What´s the Matter With Milton Wolf?
American Spectaror ^ | David Catron

Will a Kansas Tea Partier help the Democrats retain their Senate majority?

It has occasionally been claimed that the Civil War began not at Fort Sumter in South Carolina but on the banks of a small creek in Kansas, where John Brown and his sons murdered five men in what later became known as the “Pottawatomie massacre.” Today, a less grisly civil war is being fought throughout that state between disgruntled supporters of Tea Party candidate Milton Wolf and “establishment” Republicans working to reelect Senator Pat Roberts, who defeated Wolf in a hard fought GOP primary. This internecine conflict may well prevent the Republicans from regaining a majority in the U.S. Senate.

Although Roberts has a 96 percent rating from the American Conservative Union, many of Wolf’s supporters inexplicably claim he’s a RINO and threaten to sit out the election. This wouldn’t be particularly important if Roberts enjoyed a substantial lead over his main rival. However, due to some clever courthouse skullduggery whereby the Democrats forced their original Senate nominee to drop out of the race and threw their support behind ostensible “Independent” Greg Orman, Roberts is in the fight of his political life. Thus, he needs the support of Tea Partiers as well as party regulars.

Wolf, however, refuses to endorse Roberts or encourage his supporters to vote for him.

Oh Yeah! Vote for Roberts.
Just look at how much seniority he has. After Thirty-three (33) years as a resident of Washington, he knows how to get things done. And he loves Kansas so much, he spends several weeks there every six years.

The thing is, Wolf doesn't have a voting record, has the scandal of patient exrays online, and Roberts is more conservative than most. Wolf should fall in line. Is he a faux-conservative plant, or does he want Republicans to win the US Senate?

If I had to choose a seat that deserves to be lost, even at the risk of a majority, it would be Cochran because of that disgusting primary campaign.

Reminds me of that great song by Sam Cooke, “I’ll Come Running Back to You.”

And Roberts best buy a Kansas homestead before election day if he wants to have us vote for him.

Get out of the Beltway. Quit acting like an elitist pol.

The list of senators who don’t own a home in the state they purport to represent is getting longer and longer. Cochran, Landrieu, Roberts...TERM LIMITS should be the answer to this. Once you get a ritzy house in DC there is no going back home to the farm....

I do not understand the ARROGANCE of Roberts not establishing a Kansas residence once it came up. If it were my state, I’d still vote for Roberts, as a reliable conservative on many issues.

If we vote for him and he does not own property here, that sets a very dangerous precedent. Anyone from anywhere can sign up to be my representative. Ain’t happening.

Let’s extrapolate on this theme: If your Senator does not have to be from your state, does your President have to be from your country? Want to have a President from Qatar?

I wonder if the author berated Mike Castle for NOT endorsing Christine O’Donnell, or Richard Lugar for NOT endorsing Richard Mourdock, or Lisa Murkowski for NOT endorsing Joe Miller and then running as an independent, or Charlie Crist for NOT endorsing Marco Rubio and running as an independent? Etc. Etc.

I'd solve the problem. Anyone, from US President on down to local councilpersons would have to prove residency in the district, state, or nation in which they're running for office.

For me, the shocker was that Obama (or anyone) can get on a ballot without proving they're legal residents. Around here , it's harder to join the RecCenter in town than to get on the ballot.

Remember ole Rahm had the same issue, not a resident.

Mitt Romney at least had the decency to buy a house in MA when he ran for governor. And how about Hillary and the US Senate? How bogus was that? At least she bought a house there.

We're never going to get the government, at all levels, in control unless office holders actually have to live in the areas they represent, and for at least a few years before running for office.

So what does it matter where he lives or how arrogant he is if everyone is going to vote for him anyway? Yeah, he's a reliable vote on a lot of issues, at least in election years. But he's also someone who doesn't give a hoot about his constituents and thinks that the office is not something he needs to earn every election. He's a conservative, usually. But he's also the personification of everything that people hate about the GOP establishment and professional politicians.

And this character (Orman) may well win if Milton Wolf doesn’t endorse Roberts.

LOL..... You’ve got to be kidding me. The old fart, Roberts, has been in the Senate for 18 years and in Washington for 30 years and he cannot win unless he gets the blessings of one, little, Tea Party Conservative dude? PULLL-EEEEZE! And from the FWIW Department, Karl Rove & Joe Trippi, on FOX yesterday, said that both, Roberts (KS) and McConnell (KY), will lose on Nov. 4. See the link below:

I voted for Wolf and now I am voting for Roberts. Pat is 100% better than the left thinking, pro choice, democrat supported opponent.
