The owners of a small pizzeria in Indiana were seemingly the first business to say they would publicly deny service to LGBT couples in the wake of Indiana’s new and controversial Religious Freedom Law.

Shortly after Memories Pizza owners agreed in a local newscast that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act allows them to deny service to LGBT people who wanted their pizza at a same-sex wedding, 1-star Yelp reviews rolled in denouncing the business.

I will never understand how homosexuals, and liberals in general, came to have so much power in this country.

It sounds like they are saying we’ll tolerate you buying pizza, just like anyone else, but please don’t ask us to provide pizza to celebrate your gayness at your wedding.

That’s not what they said. If LGBT people show up for a pizza, they’ll happily sell them one. But if they ask them to cater an LGBT event, they will refuse for religious reasons.

Lemme guess. Yelp will let anyone from anywhere critique something whether they live proximate to the service or not.

Loss of real business is the real determinate, not useless outcry....it hasn’t been long enough for the business to see any real change in actual business yet.

For one thing, the premise is ridiculous. The author must be assuming that everyone involved in the marriage is LGBTQ.

RE: I will never understand how homosexuals, and liberals in general, came to have so much power in this country.

By leveraging on two things:

1) The Constitution’s protection of minorities from the tyranny of the majority

2) By leveraging on the Civil Rights Act.

With support from the Mainstream media and Democrats of course.

They have the media, and the Media shapes opinion.

RE: Indiana Pizzeria Owners Say They’d Deny LGBT People Service

How do the owners know that someone who orders a pizza is gay?

Do they flaunt it before ordering?

Some of the comments referencing Jesus loving everyone including gays remind me of some calls to CSPAN this morning,
I thought “Did Jesus marry and same sex couples?? I missed that in the Bible”

Dems are winning the argument by framing it in winning terms.

How likely is it that any couple, gay or straight, is going to want to serve pizza as their wedding meal? Certainly the bride(s) and/or groom(s) would need to use some mouthwash before getting intimate.

Makes sense to me. Restaurant service is a "public accomodation." Catering an event comes much closer to what I'd call a "personal service", which ought to be voluntary. Otherwise, it's a form of government-mandated servitude.

This whole thing is getting stupid!

I lean more towards the ‘libertarian’ angle on this. Serve and provide a service to anyone who is willing to pay and not make an ‘issue’ of things.

Govt shouldn’t ‘force’ anyone to brake their religious beliefs if it doesn’t jeopardize someone’s life or national security!

Period!
