There are no sure things in politics, but Hillary Clinton is the closest thing to a sure thing to become the Democrats' candidate for president in 2016.
This is one of the painful but inescapable signs of our time. There is nothing in her history that would qualify her for the presidency, and much that should disqualify her. What is even more painful is that none of that matters politically. Many people simply want "a woman" to be president, and Hillary is the best-known woman in politics, though by no means the best qualified.
What is Hillary's history? In the most important job she has ever held Secretary of State American foreign policy has had one setback after another, punctuated by disasters.
U.S. intervention in Libya and Egypt, undermining governments that were no threat to American interests, led to Islamic extremists taking over in Egypt and terrorist chaos in Libya, where the American ambassador was killed, along with three other Americans.
Fortunately, the Egyptian military has gotten rid of that country's extremist government that was persecuting Christians, threatening Israel and aligning itself with our enemies. But that was in spite of American foreign policy.
In Europe, as in the Middle East, our foreign policy during Hillary Clinton's tenure as Secretary of State was to undermine our friends and cater to our enemies.
The famous "reset" in our foreign policy with Russia began with the Obama administration reneging on a pre-existing American commitment to supply defensive technology to shield Poland and the Czech Republic from missile attacks. This left both countries vulnerable to pressures and threats from Russia and left other countries elsewhere wondering how much they could rely on American promises.

There was (and is) nothing in the history of The Won that would qualify him for the presidency, either.
Well, she’s got a vagina (supposedly).
What other qualifications are needed? /s
So true. Our future is less secure because of Hillary Clinton.
We attacked Libya and they were no threat to us. The administration wanted to attack Syria and they were no threat to us. We stuck our nose in Egypt and were on the wrong side. We won the war in Iraq. obama and Hillary screwed that up.
Obama and Hillary are idiots.
She is ugly and nasty, prerequisites for a female Democrat candidate. Unfortunately Republicans are incapable of designating their own female candidacy who is beautiful, gracious, moral and brilliant. As such she is unelectable.
Amen to that.
Unless, of course, they accomplished exactly what they set out to accomplish.
Unless, of course, they accomplished exactly what they set out to accomplish.
True. They are both aligned with the muslim brotherhood.
“Unfortunately Republicans are incapable of designating their own female candidacy who is beautiful, gracious, moral and brilliant. As such she is unelectable.”
Because the Republican women that could do the job are too conservative for the GOP.
I want "a woman" to be president, but Governor Palin is not running and probably could not win in the face of GOP insider opposition.
I want "a woman" to be president, but Governor Haley is not running and probably could not win in the face of GOP insider opposition.
I'll settle for the best person who is running, whether he's a Hispanic Texas senator or a white rust-belt governor.
Her lack of qualifications and accomplishments will be glossed over, but Hillary is just not a good candidate. She is not personable like Bill and comes across as smarmy and condescending. Her speeches are tepid cliches and she cannot keep avoiding questions. The corrupt money deals of the Clinton Foundation will not go away and many Democrats are nervous about her.
I totally agree. I’ve also been of the belief for many months she would not actually run when it came down to it because of those reasons and that was before the Clinton Foundation fiasco, I was wrong.
I guess the old iconoclast Samuel Langhorne Clemens was right when he said if “voting mattered, they wouldn’t let us do it.”
Nails it....confirms my observations about the Clintons. Hillary talks and acts like a president...NOT a candidate.
Means the cunning Clintons already have the votes to win in the bag. Interesting that she says she's going after "Obama's Coalition."
2008 candidate Obama stole that election---no question. I keenly recall David Axelrod showing CBS-TV around Obama's campaign headquarters......but nothing was happening......no hustle no bustle.
No need for campaign activity. They already had the votes tiedup.
Hillary was asked why her State Dept greenlit the transfer of 20% of strategic US uranium to the Russians. Clinton claimed she had no involvement..."...it wasnt something the secretary of state did.
On an issue of utmost national security, Hillary's statement strains credulity for these reasons:
<><> First, nine investors who profited from the uranium deal collectively donated $145 million to the Clinton Foundation.
<><> Hillary notes that nine US government agencies signed off on that deal......but she was the only US agency signoff who banked $145 million from uranium shareholders.
When Hillary was asked about the Kremlin-backed bank that paid Bill $500,000 for a single speech in Moscow, Hillary offered a blurry evasion. It happened in terms of the support for the foundation before I was secretary of state. Yet, the Times confirms the gargantuan fee was pocketed, shortly after the Russians announced their intention to acquire a majority stake in Uranium One.
Plus----at the time Hillarys State Dept was considering the Uranium One deal, Uranium Ones then-chief Ian Telfer donated $2.35 million that the Clinton foundation kept hidden.
American voters are left to ponder Hillary's involvement in strategic US uranium reserves now in Vladimir Putin's hands: She's either dangerously incompetent or deeply dishonest. (hat tip Clinton Cash author Schweizer's NY Post op-ed)
Thanks jazusamo.
That is arguable but they are Marxists. That is a fact.
