Clinton’s stumbles fray Democratic nerves
Financial Times ^ | 10 Jul 2015 | Megan Murphy

Tactical blunders. A strained relationship with the media. An insurgent rival drawing enormous crowds.

For Hillary Clinton, the past few weeks of her 2016 presidential campaign have brought back uncomfortable memories of her failed bid in 2008. High quality global journalism requires investment. Please share this article with others using the link below, do not cut & paste the article.

Three months in to what should be one of the best funded, best organised campaigns in history, Mrs Clinton has been unable to draw a line under a series of controversies, or to generate the kind of grassroots enthusiasm that will be crucial to maintaining momentum in the gruelling months ahead.

As she prepares to outline her economic vision for the country in a high-profile address on Monday in New York, Mrs Clinton’s team is betting that a rollout of popular, middle-class friendly policies such as paid sick leave and universal prekindergarten provision will help to reset the debate.

But her rockier-than-expected start continues to unnerve some long-time allies and Democratic donors, who view the rise of rival Bernie Sanders, the 73-year-old self-proclaimed socialist who has galvanised progressives, as a symptom, rather than a cause, of so-called “Clinton fatigue.”

A social media storm over her campaign’s decision to rope off reporters like farm animals during an Independence day parade in New Hampshire was followed this week with an awkward nationally televised interview with CNN, where a stiff Mrs Clinton struggled to respond to claims that many voters do not trust her and blamed the “rightwing” for fomenting imaginary scandals. ..........She's struggling for sure.

What are they worried about.

They could run a brain dead pervert like Joe Biden — and every Democrat will still turn out and vote for him.

I’m beginning to like Bernie ‘Eugene MCarthy’ Sanders.

I want Joe Biden to get in the race. He’d probably give Hillary more competition than anyone else and maybe make the Dim primaries close enough that few Dims will cross over in open primary states and do mischief in the Republican races.

Actually, Bernie Sanders and Biden might make it close since they’d appeal to somewhat different voters.

I do not know why they fray the Democrat’s nerves. If she wins, she will win by the tried and true Democrat method, lies and treachery, and cheating. The Democrat Political Party is a mirror image of its father, Satan. And every word Jesus said about Satan can be applied to today’s Democrat Party.

Caliph Baraq had the Chicago Mob to power him past the Clinton Crime Family.

Right now, there’s nobody in the Dem race with that kind of clout. And it’s not looking like there will be. Warren is still on the sidelines and the clock is running.

The ultimate irony would be Clinton vs Bush vs (insert 3rd party name here) and a Clintonian plurality win like 1992.

Not going to happen. Clinton is simply way too much 1990’s.

Open question to the forum:
In a hypothetical three way Bush-Clinton-Trump race,

Are Republican voters so stubbornly stupid they would vote for Yeb Bush even if they could win with Trump?

They could run a brain dead pervert like Joe Biden — and every Democrat will still turn out and vote for him.

And the GOPe will drag loser Jeb across the finish line, and...

Conservative voters will - once again - have no one for whom to vote.

The Dem entitlement army gives them a guaranteed win in any 3-way race (with a high profile 3rd party “conservative” candidate).

Any third party candidate will finish in 3rd place. Any R POTUS candidate benefits from state party power structures and the number of folks who vote straight ticket.

That might change someday as the R party degenerates, but it won’t be 2016. As far as I know, there are zero conservative office holders as state governor, federal representative, or federal senator who are NOT Republicans.

I think you are wrong, Trump wins, Yeb Bush comes in third.
People have had enough of the invasion.

But nobody notices or talks about it ... why??

Because that CLOWN Donald Trump is all anyone notices! Hildabeast could throw puppies off a cliff and ALL anyone will notice is Trump.

He’s the worst thing that could have happened to us this election Season.

Mark my words.

The MSM will dump Hillary for Bernie.

They think that this is their time.

I think the democrats are yearning for a dark horse, although there are none on the horizon at this time.

Does it matter? I mean, seriously; do you think any “party” candidate, whether democrat or republican, would really change anything in Washington D.C.?

No.

The media is yearning for a “dark horse”.

Just watch and see.

You’ll see more and more stories on the major news portals like Google and Yahoo, AOL etc, that are sympathetic to socialism. The Swedish/Norwegian model, if you will.

The difference is in the assumption that modern Americans have the the same work ethic as the Norwegians.

Clearly most do, but a growing segment of the US population has adopted a victimized position that is finding an increasing number of political allies for their condition.
