Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.), who has spent the past few weeks taking oblique swipes at Senate colleague and presidential campaign rival Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), took a direct swing at him Thursday in a clash that signaled a newly bitter fight between the two rising candidates â and illustrated the GOP fieldâs contentious fault lines on immigration policy.
Cruz blasted Rubio for his support of a failed immigration reform bill that would have granted a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, telling conservative radio host Laura Ingraham that Rubio had opposed adding provisions to the bill that would have strengthened border security

Here's Trump in 2012 talking about Romney.
Trump never supported the Dream Act.
Who has led the fight against Obamaâs unconstitutaional, illegal acts? Ted Cruz.
See Cruz on Fast Track, the Corker bill, and his still UNCHANGED position from 2013 on immigration. Cruz is not as big on the Constitution as he claims he is.
Well that would explain his ‘Cruz did it too’ shtick.
How much does Trump pay you?
Ted Cruz in 2013 on providing Legal status to Illegals:
Does this then mean Cruz is for a form of amnesty by providing Legal Status to Illegals? Watch the video and you be the judge.
"The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight," he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Mr. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation."

Unlike Trump, Cruz has NOT changed position. Cruz STILL defines amnesty as "a pathway to citizenship." He does not consider granting legal status to be amnesty. Cruz as of July refused to say he would deport anyone, stating that there would be a "conversation" about what to do about the people already here AFTER he is elected.
Has Cruz said that was the purpose of the amendment? I haven’t heard that.
Has Cruz said that was the purpose of the amendment? I haven’t heard that.
Just my personal opinion, but I never appreciated Bachmann running for President. We will never know, but I still think there was a chance that Sarah Palin might have run if she had not gotten in to muddy the waters.
While the MSM eventually pretty quickly turned on Bachmann, initially the MSM embraced her and said in unison this means Palin cant run.
Of Course she Palin could still have run, Bachmann was a major lightweight compared to Palin, but the MSM loved that Bachmann ran only because they felt it helped keep Palin out of the race.
I only saw Bachmann as a spoiler for Palin, Bachmann was a lightweight and had less than zero chance, Palin on the other hand could have won.
Before anybody slams me to hard, Michelle Bachmann said something just in the past 2 weeks that I really liked. She is right on a lot of issues, her constant talk that she was the mother of 20 or something like that came across very phony to me., that`s the kind of thing that others could have said about her, but not herself. JMHO
I wish she had not run, I personally believe Sarah Palin still might have run had Michelle not gotten in for the MSM Palin haters
That Time Donald Trump Had A Meeting With DREAMers And Said âYou Convinced Meâ On Immigration

The only I voted for McWimp was because of Sarah Palin.
According to the Dreamers, not according to Trump.
“I prefer to think of it as Cruz is the tail and Trump is the kite.”
One thing is for sure, under their leadership this country would soar!
Does Trump endorse amnesty for illegals over-and-over again in 2015?
Again we're not talking hard numbers here, but it's a vast improvement over the impression left by Trump's previous comments. I'm somewhat skeptical about it and it would be good to get some kind of impression of what numbers we're talking about. Certainly Trump is the first to suggest mass deportation, but that would be followed by some sort of mass importation. I doubt Trump will offer hard numbers, so we're back to trust.
By being vague about it, Trump appears to offer immigration critics mass deportation and offer illegal alien supporters amnesty. Without any actual criteria, it could be one or the other. It's all in the details.
What does "bad" mean. What does "outstanding" mean. If we assume that anyone without a criminal record who worked steadily is outstanding, then we're looking at a slightly smaller amnesty. If it means overachievers and a smaller percentage of extraordinary cases, then it could be a pretty good deal. Until there are more details, it's hard to know.
Trump says of the illegal aliens, "of the good ones, of which there are many" would have to leave, but would have an expedited process of coming back.
How many is many?
I haven’t seen or heard Trump deny any of it. Now one thing everyone knows about Trump: He is not the shy, reticenct type. He is loud, abrasive and quick to hit back at the slightest slight. He’d have come out and denied it long ago if they were telling lies about the meeting.
Yes, you did not mention Fox...but you are unknowingly parroting the Baier leading hit piece on Cruz/support piece for El Nino Rubio tonight on Fox. Cruz has been emphatic...absolutely no citizenship for illegals...thus, no amnesty...secure the border above all else...but, the massive deportation question will be addressed later...not off the table...good policy, better politics! El Nino has supported the Gang of 8 amnesty...your boy Donald supports total deportation...arbitrary, I think not!
I agree. Oh Marco screw the pooch getting tangled up with the likes of McCain.
I’mma Texan, Ted Cruz is my candidate. He’z the most conservative.
Trump's a blow hard, squeaky wheel. I'd vote for him if he’z the nominee, but I think he'll peter out.
Because you are uninformed and are trying to change the topic from Cruz. The Dreamers admit that they 'crashed' the meeting, then claim that Trump "lied" to them, putting them at ease, only to refute them immediately after the Buzzfeed article. I've heard him explicitly on this issue deny their claims, saying he was "polite" to them, but that was the extent.
