the question remains, why are they still in the race?

BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO COLLECT A SALARY FOR RUNNING FOR OFFICE.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out they can claim it as tax-free income as well.

Let me help you out here, because clearly you didn’t understand, or you were just looking for an excuse to be snotty.

The hugeness would be in how wrong you would be (very) - not in the size of the consequence (almost none if you believed it, maybe a little more if Trump and his advisors believed it.)

I am certain that the idea of destroying your Republicans with mindless attacks like this is NOT the way to win the White House. It may or may NOT win the nomination, but it NEVER EVER leads to the White House.

I am also certain that the child molester comments were the low point of Trump’s campaign, and he has thrived IN SPITE of those comments, not because of them. The comments about Carson are NOT AT ALL the same thing as his fearless push back against the media, against PC, against the GOP estabs. And I am sure that idolizing someone as perfect and incapable of a mistake is NOT conservative nor logical.

you are right....some people see a hot thread on FR and assume the masses of the entire planet are just as involved with that thread as we are.

Paris made the Trump comments go quietly in the night. This is lucky for Trump. Those comments would NOT have sold on the open market. It would have helped Carson, which is not a good thing.

I’m not sure I’m ready for governor Dan Patrick. Although I do agree Greg Abbott is the real deal. I like him better than Ted Cruz. Maybe Abbott can take out John Cornyn in 2020?

When we see the non NY Slimes, Compost and ABCCNNBCBS and Faux news polls, after Paris, Trump is basically running away from the others. Dr Ben NyQuil continues to slide.

Patrick's statement WRT the Syrian refugees sounded pretty conservative.
Unless you know something to make conservatives wary?

====================================

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick released the following statement regarding Gov Abbotts stance on refusing Syrian refugees to relocate to Texas: I fully support Governor Abbotts decision to not accept any refugees from Syria in light of the horrific terrorist attacks in Paris. The threat of another terrorist attack on any country is real and Texas must always remain vigilant.

All Texans are shocked at the barbarism of the ISIS attacks in Paris Friday. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they grapple with the tragic loss. We, however, must take appropriate steps to keep Texans safe – and Governor Abbott has taken that first step.

Texas has a long history of welcoming refugees and displaced people from around the world. Recall that thousands who were left homeless after Hurricane Katrina found new homes and welcoming arms in Texas. We adhere to Judeo-Christian principles and stand ready to help those in need, but not at the expense of the safety and security of our own people.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and families of these heinous attacks. Justice will be served and Texas will take the appropriate steps to thwart further attacks on our proud nation of law and order.

Carson has always been at 10%.

The polls putting him tied or beating Trump were leftist propagandist BS.

Yet another “poll” showing Trump leading. Ten million polls can’t be wrong.

Don’t get me wrong I like Patrick, I just think he needs to spend more (much more) time as Lt. Gov before taking over for Abbott.

“Poll was taken Nov 19-23. A lot of new Trump bashing since then. It’ll be interesting to see the polls taken the after the Nov. 23rd.”

This is said EVERY time a poll comes out, LOL!

When has Trump not been bashed?

“Donald and Melania are going to be the perfect combination of male and female in the White House.”

She also said during the Walters interview when asked about Donald bashing women that he does that to everyone. The media just chose to pick out the statements about women. Smart cookie!

I’m a Trump supporter. The media is now ramping up the bashing with outright lies...it may not hurt...it may help Trumps numbers...as I said I look forward to the new polls...this one is 4 days old.

“You and several other TRUMPKINS, feel a burning need to take shots at Cruz, while most of us Cruzers {other than the LUNATIC, cincinatus’ wife} can accept either reality.”

You gotta hang out on a few more Trump threads - it’s mainly Cruz supporters that show up with such vile hatred for Trump and insult Trump supporters ad nauseam.

While I’d say the majority of us are hoping for a Trump/Cruz ticket.

Funny how the bashing only seems to help him! Each time he ‘went too far’ or ‘is slipping’ ends up not true. I haven’t had so much fun - and optimism - in an election in a long time!
