Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) has earned the support of conservative favorite Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC), who will join the freshman Senator for a three-day trip to Iowa to rally support for his campaign.
“Marco is a rock solid conservative and a strong leader we can trust,†Gowdy said in a statement proved to reporters. “I look forward to campaigning in Iowa with him, and introducing my good friend to voters across the state.â€
Gowdy is a celebrity among many conservatives, thanks to his tough prosecutorial grilling of members of the administration officials during congressional hearings and because he has chaired the Benghazi investigative committee that centers on Hillary Clinton.

Gowdy has been GOPe and he supports the Dreamer amnesty. Disappointment as Chairman of the Benghazi committee. He is leaving after this term anyway.
Gowdy started to stink several months ago, but this flat kills him in my book.
As long as elitist and establishment money, and global corporate money and other self interests are free to hand out any amount through campaign donations they will own and pull the strings of the candidà tes. Thats why they hate Trump because he disrupts their cozy deals for bribery. I fully support reversing Citizens United decision and replacing big money wth volunteerihg for candidates or public financing.
The single most defining issue that identifies establishment candidates vs pro-American conservative candidates comes down to the issue of immigration (illegal, amnesty, H1B, refugees at will). I love Trey Gowdy because he has personally helped Mr. GG2 in the past but I don’t get the Rubio thing. If anything I would have expected him to go for Cruz.
They couldn't beat Linda due to an open primary and re-elected him, 54-39-4-3, with the latter two being 3rd party protest runs. But how does a state that claims to have been conservative forever have the open primary rules that lets Graham, etc. in. By not being as conservative as they want you to believe.
If neither Trump or Cruz make it, my next choice would be Rubio. He would be the best to defeat Hillary from the remaining garbage candidates.
Rubio is actually quite conservative and very good. The problem is that he simply isn’t tough enough to fight against the GOP-e. Also, I’m sure Jeb Bush is doing everything he can to undercut Rubio (who is much more conservative) and always has been working against him.

A real conservative would have had Clinton's hide nailed to the wall by now. The Republican establishment really don't want to bring her down.

Gowdy has been a nothing for a while now. He subpoenas the witch’s email server and she wipes it clean before turning it over to the FBI.... and she gets away with clear obstruction of justice??? Certainly Gowdy is all bark with NO bite. He’s a soundbite and nothing more.

SC is a big disappointment. The governor seems to have jumped to the dark side, too. Before her there was Mark Sanford. Weird.
