JANUARY 22, 2016 ~ CONSISTENTCONSERVATIVES
This is an emergency means for us to keep in touch with our FRiends, who are real Conservatives, in case of purging. Or, if there is no purging, do we really want to continue our discussions in the forum where the owner despises us for not supporting his non-Conservative candidate?
My purpose is to figure out what to do to continue our discussions to advance Conservatism.
ANY observer could sample FR posts and see that the posts by Cruz supporters making ad hominem, hateful, often brazenly false attacks against Trump and his supporters were not only far more numerous than the other way around, but their invective and hate were orders of magnitude higher.
Yeah, there was a very short period of time when I began to take interest in his show. I quickly learned I’d have to hunt and peck which ones I wanted to watch. Then it just seemed to me he was a flake. Yes he can uncork a great presentation. That’s not the normal case from my perspective.
I am somewhat surprised Cruz didn’t know better than to team up with him for a day or a few.
Good grief. This would be about the 88th group to threaten to make an exodus because they expect 100/100 agreement with their thinking+candidate.

Good, bad or indifferent, even the Trump Haters have to admit that EVERYTHING in Politics would be different today had he not thrown his Hat into the Ring.

I don’t see people getting bounced for knocking Trump. I’ve said multiple times I won’t vote for him. Could that change? I suppose. One test would be if he continues to talk conservative when up against a Dem. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

I share many of your concerns about Trump but I will vote for Trump IF he is nominated. I also share your admiration for and commitment to Ted Cruz for the reasons you stated.
Your last paragraph speaks for me too.
I do think that the vitriol has to be toned down. One of these two candidates, Trump or Cruz, will be the last firewall against Hillary or Bernie or whomever. I have normally rejected arguments against the Demonrat boogieman in recent years. McCain was my last (and ery reluctant) vote for GOP-E. Like many here, I claimed I was voting for Palin. That was disingenuous. Last time I voted for FR's own Eternal Vigilance and, like about 4 million conservatives, refused to support trash like Romney. If the party names another GOP-E like Moral Monster Mitt Romney, I note that EV is standing for POTUS again.

but Jim, Trump is wanting Universal Healthcare and says Gay Marriage is the law of the land.. any difference in that and Romney? or is it me?

It’s actually pretty funny people are even arguing about who are the worst offenders Cruzers or Trumpsters! LOL...as if there isn’t enough to debate with the actual issues of both men.
There’s a reason they call times of elections “silly seasons”.....but I generally like to see the most obnoxious posts as people just venting their frustrations....some actually have something to say along with that.
Heck I have my own frustrations because I simply can’t get my head around ‘why’ people would seriously consider Trump over Cruz......there’s more at stake here short and long term and the guy has a distinct history of supporting Dmocratic issues. That’s not going to change if he’s elected no matter what he’s thundering from his lips now as I see it.

Wrap your head around the facts- Mr. Donald Trump is truly American by guts to glory, failure to success. Tested by life.
Sen. Cruz has a similar track- yet he has failed the “metal to the meat” test, by caving with caveats, to his seniors in DC politics.
I'm from CA too. Arnold did what he said he would do, get Measures on the Ballot to fix the problems Gray Davis, the Legislature and even his predecessors helped create.
The Government Employee Unions spent Millions of Dollars and fought every Initiative. All of them went down to defeat on Election Day. After that, good old Arnold came out and said it's the will of the People and he gave up.
Somehow I just don't see the same happening with Trump on the Federal level. That being said, I wonder of even Cruz could get past the Firewall of the D.C. Bureaucracy. They seem to have a special hatred of Cruz.
Trump's advantage from what I am observing is that he has a knack of getting the message across and hopefully the Citizenry behind him. If he can pull that off as POTUS, the Legislative Branch may just change its ways. If not, it's back to the drawing board.
