I don't understand the premise.

If Trump hadn't run, what would these "consistent conservatives" have done?

They would have bickered and circular-argumented themselves to death about who was more conservative, Christie/Huckabee/Bush/Rubio/Fiorina. Cruz would have been completely destroyed by the media/Dems and Paul is a non-factor.

They would have continued to make excuses for the same failed Congressional Republicans who have given away their Constitutional powers to Obama. And urging us to support them because, you know SCOTUS justices or whatever.

We KNOW Trump is not a conservative. But he cares about the four biggest issues out there: Immigration, Jobs, Trade, and Islam.

I completely agree EEE. On top of that, Trump having never held political office is a complete outsider to the political establishment. There are many that are willing to take a chance on Trump due to his push of the major issues and being an outsider.

You're absolutely right. Trump busted the commie PC media blackout of the issues that we have all been suffering from out here, which our elected representatives have chosen to ignore (or worsen) legislatively while giving lip service to us for our votes. I think that is the main reservation regarding Trump; he has publicly espoused contrary views so many of us don't trust him at his word.

But if he's the Republican nominee I will absolutely vote for him. If he actually does then what he now says he will, yes he could not only help America make itself great again, but could be one of the greatest American presidents simply by taking out the Republican establishment and the media fifth column.

But that's the gamble. We in The People's Republic of Kalifornia got burned by Arnold the same way.

Cruz would have had more support, if it wasn't for Trump, not less.

It would have been JEB! 24/7, setting us up for the age of the Hildebeast.

Good, bad or indifferent, even the Trump Haters have to admit that EVERYTHING in Politics would be different today had he not thrown his Hat into the Ring.

We live in interesting times.

It is believed if Trump hadn’t run, Sen. Cruz would still be in Texas a resident and US Senator - living a life of ease and fewer problems. Cruz has gone to the top of the heap due to his relationship with Trump. It would have been much more difficult in doing this alone.

Happen to like both of them and would love to see both on the ticket together.
