Oh! Noes! Trump is sure to loose now since Mrs. Palin praised him again and he was not tending to business by being absent from the FNC debate. s/

‘Fox kept that fat Muslim chick in there, but instead of attacking Trump they had to use her to lob a softball at
Jeb. She complained of backlash against Muslims, and Jeb launched into a whine about Trump. Odd and forced. Jeb is a dunce.’ — over3Owithabrain

What an endorsement of Trump! By Jeb. By accident.

I caught Trump saying that he hated to do it, but he “had to stand up for his rights.”

Which of his rights were threatened?

Please explain in detail.

‘It’s supposed to be a debate BETWEEN THE CANDIDATES not between a candidate and some low level TV journalist attempting gotcha questions.’

Right, that muslim witch was watered down, but we all know why FoxNews had her there. Prior to the debate she compared Trump to Hitler.

SABOTAGE by FoxNews!

APPROVED by the RNC.

[And obviously watered down since he was absent.]

Also this ...

The second individual, Dulce Candy, is an immigrant from Mexico, a former U.S. military servicewoman, and a Latina. Trump’s commitment to build a wall between the U.S. and Mexico could very well be a topic of her discussions with the candidates.

Now for the Muslim witch ...

[quote]

The third individual, Nabela Noor, is a Muslim American who is an outspoken critic of anyone who, like Trump, questions the motivations of Muslims, Muslim immigrants, Islam, and jihad. Noor, who reportedly equated Trump with Adolf Hitler, will most likely address Muslim-related issues with the candidates. Quite possibly, Noor will question Trump’s plan to temporarily close U.S. immigration to Muslims. Noor states she uses her voice to combat what she perceives as negative stereotypes of Muslims, a phenomena she states is more prevalent.

It goes deeper than that ...

Like I posted yesterday... Trump has castrated the media. Yesterday the MSM became irrelevant. We’re taking our country back. Thank you, Donald!

The immigration discussion between Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio was FANTASTIC ... and Fox did everyone a favor by showing past video statements of each ...

Perhaps Trump got a heads up that actual words out of candidates' mouths were going to be shown.

Maybe the Russert interview.

Maybe something more recent.

Trump praises Ted Cruz

Regardless, I believe Trump does know his vulnerability on substance. How long he can run away is the question now.

Fox had the knives out, ready for Trump with the Muslim activist...

You mean that silly girl with a You Tube channel? That silly girl who was plotting an AMBUSH????!!!

The one that was eliciting howls of rage from some here???

THAT "activist"?

She was not even a blip. Lighter weight than Pajama Boy.

“Trump had a big win tonight and has completely upset the stranglehold Fox has on Republicans.”

Even bigger: I think he decimated the stranglehold all media has on elections. He went rogue and made it clear that they can’t dictate everything that occurs. Who gave them that power, anyhow? They just grabbed it and everyone said, “Duh. OK. We’ll do whatever you say.”

I hope more of the candidates give the finger to the MSM and refuse to play the game any more.

Trump showed the world that the MSM are just paper tigers.

Fox and the rest of the LSM are “game change deniers”.

“Which of his rights were threatened?”

I’d say his rights of a fair debate. The way they are formatted now, they aren’t debates. They need to find another word. A true “debate” is fair. Participants have equal time and opportunity to discuss the issue at hand. The facilitator doesn’t attack either one.

Well. I am not sure that is a "right." And I agree that it's a sorry format - more to titillate than to inform. (I keep harping on a vital book)

Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business (1985)

For the first time ever, in this cycle, candidates are pushing back against the media. It was very disappointing to me to see Trump abandon the arena, when he could have continued the push back.

You are missing the big picture here. Trump did more to destroy the Media’s role as kingmaker with the CNN event than has been done in the debates to date. He attacked and destroyed the “rule” that the Media get to run the debates how they want, with the moderators they want.

Instead, he substituted the valid idea that the candidates have the power to select the moderators and forms of the debates.

That was common 30 years ago.

Trump is destroying the media as the arbiter of who is acceptable as a candidate, and their ability to destroy who they do not want to be elected.

I agree with marktwain. Trump not only did the right thing in terms of his stated reason, but his move was a 3D power play against a 2D ambush set-up that Fox was obviously planning. Also, it was a complete checkmate of Cruz, who needed another prime-time shot at Trump before the Iowa vote.

Trump has all the media he wants anytime he wants it. Cruz had only this debate. He needed Trump there. Trump bailed. Cruz lost.

Period.

Trump's move to skip the debate was more that just smart, it was brilliantly Pattonesque!

Seek help.

BTW, Patton was the first person added to the list.
