One cannot usually help who one likes; it is instinctive. Although Cruz is closest to my position and values I just don't like him. I really like Trump, even when his speech is offensive. I also like Rubio, even when I don't really trust him. I also like Sanders, but voting for him is A Bridge Too Far, completely unacceptable. However a race between Trump and Sanders would be the classic Capitalist vs. Socialist for the history books (hopefully like Reagan vs. Mondale).

And what happened in the two election cycles before that?
What about the Democratic side in the last two election cycles with Obama winning Iowa and the presidency?

Oh Gawd, not another poll with Trump ahead. Haven’t the trumpers on FR learn their lesson yet?

Good points. It is instinctive and yes Rubio is very likeable and he will go far. But the damn immigration. I don’t just like Trump I love him, no one else can do what he gets away with and that’s why. Yes even Bernie. Ted however, I really don’t like. But I would still vote for him. Moot point, no way he gets past Trump.

You wish. Chuckle. Trump has never won even a single election in his life. If anyone is going to get crushed it's Trump.

results in Iowa really don’t change polls in other states

Agree. Iowa is a political anomaly and is history. Well see what happens now.

Let me take your name. You are in for quite a visit from the truth. Any bets on New Hampshire— genius?

My observation is that it shows a two point drop for Trump since the end of last week and does that continue over the next week as a result of the Cruz win in Iowa. Does the decline speed up or stabilize? Polls are a snapshot in time but have value in watching movement over time.

Rubio’s “strength” though was more a result of the GOPe banding together in self preservation and deciding to all show up because they were terrified of Trump and Cruz.

If you look at the turnout models and totals, Trump did extremely well. If you said 48 hours ago that either Trump would get 45,000+ raw vote total OR there would be 180,000 turnout, you’d say Trump would romp. Trump did his job based on what conventional wisdom was up until last night.

Cruz simply got the missing 2012 “Romney voters” to show up at the polls yesterday. The evangelicals came out big for Ted.

All three guys got their bases out and consolidated behind them. That’s why even though Rubio did very well, I’m not sure he’s begun to address the fact Trump/Cruz/Carson still controlled 61% of that last night.

I think this is the same polling company that predicted Trump’s resounding victory over Cruz in IA. No, wait...

I would not put too much stock in Iowa voting. The voter turn out to caucus is one of the lowest in relation to state population. NH is half in population size as Iowa, yet twice as many voters will Vote in NH compared to Iowa.

Lots of Cruz revulsion in New Hampshire on Twitter among those following TRUMP’s rally speech on you tube, tonight.

TRUMP is leaning in on Cruz’ dirty tactical campaign and the word is out in New Hampshire. Watch your ballot, watch your back and watch Cruz’ lips, if they’re moving, he’s lying.

Horror stories against Cruz are hitting the Twitter world, but even if they are manufactured, it is the angry paying him back for his tricks, his lies against TRUMP, and his half truth versions of edited down material to suit Ted’s smear needs at the moment.

A story up from CNN speaks to Cruz, in IOWA, telling his minions how to take votes from TRUMP, live in real time.

The names they are calling Cruz will follow him the rest of his life. They are hopping mad. This is New Hampshire!

Cruz has a reputation as being unlikeable. I have never met him but I have heard him speak. He definitely has an edge of hostility about him that is unconnected to the subject he is discussing. It's just in him. I was around for the Nixon era. He was pretty unlikeable too. I am reminded of Nixon by Cruz. Something dark about that guy.

I feel the same way about Cruz as your mom. I felt this about Clinton early on in his public career. I’m not comparing the two politically, but there is something there. And originally I liked what I was hearing from Cruz it’s just the more I’ve actually seen and heard him the more I get creeped out.
