Why would you not want prime? Some stuff comes the same day, plus there is a lot of free streaming stuff. I’ve had prime since it came out.

Seems if the free shipping is on a product from Amazon, still good to go. The problem is they have “free” listed by suppiers other than Amazon. They are the ones that will not ship outside the lower 48. Amazon should force them to state that clearly: not free, not availble.

Worse than drunk shopping is nighttime feedings shopping. I’d be feeding the new baby girl (after 3 boys!) and looking at cute girl clothing on eBay. That first year, packages kept coming and I never remembered ordering that stuff! Her closet looked like a princess’s!

(Who am I kidding, after boys, it was pretty dang fun.)

$35 was still doable, but now I will just make my smaller purchases elsewhere rather than waiting to make several at once on Amazon. This may actually be a good thing, as I will probably just buy local right when I need something instead of waiting for Amazon.

the $99 is well worth it because of he ease of ordering.

I’ve never been an Amazon shopper. I shop EBay occasionally and get lots of absolutely free shipping there. I don’t shop Walmart in store but will do ship to store occasionally.
My daughter is a huge Amazon shopper for her family. I’ve just never seen the attraction and don’t care about the streaming end for Prime. I stream free elsewhere anyway.

I remember a year or so ago it came out that Amazon Prime members were seeing higher prices for products than the non-members were seeing.

I assumed that was the reason that shipping was free.

They do offer monthly prime memberships, but I think it is only for customer retention when someone cancels their renewal.

If you want it, you might do the free trial, call and cancel, and tell customer service you are only interested if they can do a monthly plan.

Amazon shipping has always been the worst for me. Some packages have taken up to 6 weeks for delivery.

Last year, I signed up for the Amazon Prime.

Around Christmas, I order several items. Most did arrive within 3 to 5 days of the order. One item was going to take until early February, so I cancelled it.

I haven’t seen much improvement in their shipping by using Amazon Prime. I do like the streaming, which is the main reason anyway that I subscribed.

I also sent an order to Academy Sports. They split the order into 2 shipments. Both shipments arrived before the shipping info showed up on the shipper’s website.

How does one go about cancelling their Amazon account? I can’t find a phone number.

My son bought a coin online from China for $1 and promptly forgot about it. Four months later it came in the mail.

Never had a bad experience with Amazon and their Amazon Prime is still one of the best deals out there.

Its the best $100 I've ever spent.

Amazon forces us to buy more and more elsewhere.

How's that? They are eliminating shipping costs for consumers on larger items. Personally I think Amazon Prime is a great deal. 100 bucks a year you get free shipping on most products, a video channel with lots of free programing, and 5% cash back. And no, I don't work for Amazon.

We’ve been Prime members for about 5 years, and it’s way more than paid for itself in fees and our pleasure at receiving our purchases very quickly — sometimes in less time than was guaranteed.

I ordered a large walk-behind snowblower a couple of years ago. Where else are you gonna have that delivered to your door for free? Our first large flatscreen TV was delivered in two days. I hooked it up and it worked for 2 hours before dying. Next day, it went back for replacement — free return shipping & delivery of the 2nd set a couple of days later.

And I can’t say enough about their customer service. Every time — and there have only been 2 or 3 — that I’ve had to contact them, the agent has spoken clearly, and handled my issue quickly and efficiently.

This is the way to build customer loyalty.

Amazon forces us to buy more and more elsewhere.

I went all day long without Amazon forcing me to do anything. Funny how those market forces work.

I’ve been a Prime guy for 10 years.
But these days I always check eBay too.
Amazon is trending upwards on relative prices.
I’m finding a fair number of things cheaper from eBay sellers.
