I do understand what is causing Amazon to do this. I have Prime and used to purchase a low cost item almost every day on Amazon and UPS was at my door all the time! I think many others were doing this rather than planning what they needed for the week or month so UPS was being run constantly for one item or two every day by many people. UPS wanted to raise their rates for Amazon and now Amazon is using the SLOW AND INCOMPETENT USPS on many orders. I track my USPS order and even though it gets delivered, it is not always notated and I must physically go check to see if it is there. That never happened with UPS. Amazon has a shipper called “Lasership” which delivered some items to the wrong place. I do love Amazon Prime but I generally do not need $49.00 worth of anything on one given day so would have to plan for the month to ensure the Prime works for me. I do not use the streaming much. I do not like walking through a store shopping and looking for things. Amazon has most of what I need so I will continue to use them.
Batter not included.
Just how much is shipping, anyway? $2.00? $3.00? I pay that much to have a $15.00 pizza delivered (or go ahead and add a pop or two - the retailer needs to earn a profit).
“Why did the post office raise rates again this year?”
Because they want to drive Small Home Business Mail Order Operators out of business and into the welfare roles. International rates took a huge hit. Add in the strong dollar, not sure I survive.
Not to pick nits, but the USPS unfunded liabilities are "only" about $55 billion, but the Venezuelan national debt is about $266 billion...but I get your point. ;-)
Yes, prices that have prime shipping are higher priced than the same item without prime shipping. Part of the cost of shipping is built into the higher price. Most people don’t notice that though.
Forget it, he’s rolling ;)
Can you get the free shipping without Prime? I used to get free shipping for $35, but then they tied it to signing up for Prime, so I stopped buying.
I don't think that L.L. Bean has ever charged for shipping regardless of the size of the order.
No big deal, just bundle your orders and make shipping for them and you more efficient. Makes sense and nothing in this world is for free. Amazon is in business to make money and the shipping companies love the extra business as well. I still shop locally to support the business and family owned companies I care about, but why should I care about liberal corporate companies losing business to Amazon? Buy American when ever you can.
They sure charge on prices
Cabellas and Bass Pro suck too
Indeed. I needed a replacement burn barrel (55 gal drum - non available locally.) Amazon wanted $86 + $26 shipping. Went to eBay and a seller had the same one for $82 + free shipping.
I'll check both sites but I usually find that eBay can beat them, many times on shipping, as above.
About the only other items I buy online are electronics/computer peripherals/etc. through NewEgg and most often get free shipping or a minimal charge (99c). Amazon seems consistently higher on most things.
Ebays issue is usually $25 dollar shipping on a slow boat from China
Then Mr Quan wants to restrict how I pay him
Amazon Rocks they have changed the world
I would never order anything from Amazon. Most people don’t realize that they support abortion and Planned Parenthood.
I am a penny pincher and Amazon almost has my wallet open before I wake LOL

My daughter tried to send me something from Amazon. There packaging is terrible. Both times, things were broken.
Well once you get past Hobby Lobby and Chik-Fil-A, your comment pretty applies to every other retail outfit.
