Amazon forces us to buy more and more elsewhere.

...

Some of the Marketplace sellers on Amazon will sell the same item with free shipping and no tax. Plus, the owner of the company doesn’t own the Washington Post.

I’ve ordered hundreds of items on Amazon over the years - probably thousands. Never had one issue, ever.

No such thing as free shipping. The cost to ship is built into the price of the product, you are paying shipping, just don’t see it.

$49 will certainly slow down my buying from Amazon.

Indeed, yet Walmart free ship is 50.00 and has much less variety (though much lower on "Great Value" food products), often being out of stock, and using other merchants such as "Unbeatable Sales" which has the audacity to advertize "12 yd Black Gorilla Tape $37.79 Was $49.26"! Which is about 5.50 at other places. And until today Walmart itself did not have the 35yd roll was

Why would you not want prime? Some stuff comes the same day, plus there is a lot of free streaming stuff. I’ve had prime since it came out.

Simply because i saved about 100.00 by not having it. That is a lot of money. I would just add occasionally free shipping items things to the cart till it get over 35.00.

They adopted the Southwest Airlines model....take short-term losses to eliminate the competition. When their market share is near-monopoly territory, they jack up the prices.

Bought a 12 foot step ladder on Prime last year, had it delivered to the house for less than I could have bought it for at the local home improvement store. Paid for itself right there, as I have no truck to haul anything that big in.

I have noticed, though, that many small items are higher if bought on Prime than not - at a guess they add approx. $2 premium. So it does cost more than the $99.

I buy certain drinks at Walmart and haul them home. I can get them from Amazon delivered to my door and not pay a penny more. I love Amazon Prime! I have definitely made the $67 we paid well worth it.

I was not impressed by Amazon Prime. Now Amazon is scewing the non-prime members in order to subsidize the prime members. That is the only reason they jacked up free shipping minimum from 35 to $49.

I will be using Amazon less because I will only buy stuff there if the shipping is free. In my state Amazon collects the state sales tax. If I can snag same item on ebay it will usually be untaxed

So screw you Jeff Bezoz or whatever your name is. You won’t be seeing me as much. I will read the Amazon reviews then buy elsewhere like Swanson vitamins, Ebay and Newegg
