Newt Gingrich: GOP Establishment 'Living in Fantasy Land' Over Trump
Newsmax ^ | 22 Feb 2016 | Sandy Fitzgerald

Donald Trump is "far and away the front-runner," for the GOP presidential nomination and the establishment is "living in a fantasy land," by denying that big changes are happening, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday.

"Trump is tapping into something in the country that's real," Gingrich told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.

"If you take Trump's vote and Cruz's vote and Carson's vote -- the three outsiders -- they are once again at about 62 percent in South Carolina, and they have been consistently above 60 percent everywhere in the country. If you pull together all of the insurgents, there's a message there."

Further, Gingrich said that Trump is by far the party front-runner, and the real tests are coming for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to win primaries in their own home states.

"He has vastly more delegates," Gingrich said. "Can Rubio win Florida? Right now Trump is winning Florida. How well does Cruz do in Texas? Trump is a national player and he's strong everywhere."

“Polls show both Cruz and Rubio beat Trump in head to head match-ups.”

Then WHY are they not ahead of Trump. That notion is just silly.

Post 17 is a very interesting take on it all.

A few years ago people were talking about term limits for congress. But, alas, it never came to be.

I wounder why.

I believe Trump can win Florida, Cuban immigrants are VERY DIFFERENT from Mexican immigrants which have over-run CA. unless we do SOMETHING about the border CA. will NEVER go republican again and if this continues to spread the rest of the country will see the same!!!

Yeah, we’re really ticked off that the RNC/GOP has paid lip service to national security while leaving the border open and allowing millions of fraudulently documented foreigners flood the country.
Actively thwarting the will of the people to enforce the laws and borders.

Exactly, and for many that is enough to vote for him , draw huge crowds.

I had tickets to go see Trump at Southpoint tonight but heard reports the parking lots are already pretty full and the place only holds 5,000 people. Last time we went to see him 2.5 hours early and were turned away.

I will watch him on Youtube instead. I did want to take pictures and post a few.

Erickson.

I call him Dick Dickmeson. He is a sleazy guy who had people pay for an event with Trump as the headliner, canceled Trump and didn’t tell anyone so they showed up and were pissed at him.

A consistent Trump derangement syndrome sufferer

We bother caring about what he thinks? Why?

This proves Eric Erickson is no conservative, not even a middle-of-the-roader if he would rather have Ms. Hillary or Bernie S. win.

The pearl clutchers will render themselves irrelevant and Trump will win just the same. Sort of a win\win when it comes down to it.

Actually, it would be easy to take out Trump if campaign consultants would grow up and stop drinking their kool-aide and that of the media.
Step 1: Find out what motivates Trump voters, why they aren't supporting your candidate, and what your candidate can do to address these issues.
Step 2: Destroy Trumps credibility as a businessman. Show his horrendous record and multiple bankruptcies. Focus on Trump University, where Trump's people defrauded Americans with false promises of training, gave them little for thousands of dollars, and then went bankrupt.
Step 3: Show Trump to be a serial liar in politics. Show his actual history on immigration and how he changes his tune all the time.
Step 4: Paint Trump for what he is, a con man, who forgets his lines.

Limbaugh said something very interesting today. He said that Trump had been planning his run for president for the last 3-4 years. In other words, Trump had been in the planning stages of running for president much like the Americans had been planning D-Day for years.

Limbaugh said that Trump did not just decide to run and do it. There were years of preparation in the making for this run. Very interesting.

Limbaugh seemed visibly upset that Trump is running away with this. He was still shilling for Cruz.

Lol!
There’s always some alternate reality in politics where up is down.
Trump is winning handily.
Even if there were only two candidates (not going to happen) and even if every single voter voted against Trump (not going to happen) trump Still beats the spread.
I’m ready to elect the first president in 16 years who is not a wacko left Democrat!
And that will be Trump, god willing

The irony is amazing, when you consider that Newt Gingrich is the personification of the GOP establishment.

Gingrich also said to watch where the establishment endorsements go, as the recipient will be more ‘establishment’ than not.

==

Many threads throughout the day have shown those establishment endorsements are going to Rubio.

That speaks volumes about Rubio.

That speaks volumes about the tone-deaf establishment, too.
