In the early morning hours on Monday, Breitbart published a scathing takedown of their now-former editor-at-large Ben Shapiro after he announced his resignation from the conservative media company this weekend. The piece with the headline “BEN SHAPIRO BETRAYS LOYAL BREITBART READERS IN PURSUIT OF FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTORSHIP” has since been deleted; but of course, nothing on the internet ever really gets deleted, so you can read the sarcastic company reply here for yourself.
The lede reads, “Former Breitbart News editor-at-large Ben Shapiro announced Sunday evening via left-wing Buzzfeed that he is abandoning Andrew Breitbart’s lifelong best friend, widow, hand-picked management team and friends in pursuit of an elusive contributorship at the Fox News Channel.” First shot, fired.
The piece, written by William Bigelow, sarcastically continued, “It was business as usual for the ambitious conservative gadfly, who is known to live on the edge, courting and then leaving a series of companies over the past several years.”
Breitbart then lobbed a few potshots at Buzzfeed directly, bitingly writing:
“Buzzfeed, a site that has been aiming to destroy Breitbart News since the moment Andrew Breitbart died, and which has predicted the demise of Breitbart.com for the past four years, rewarded Shapiro for his bravery by placing news of his resignation just beneath several other hot stories, including “This Wee Little Snake Taking Its First Breath Will Cure Anyone’s Fears,” and “2/26: How Two Llamas And A Dress Gave Us The Internet’s Greatest Day.”

Totally unprofessional handling of this situation, they are imploding.
I hope Trump and Lewandowski sue the S**T out of these frauds!!! And Megyn Kelly too for pumping the lie!
My impression is that this ‘kid’ Shapiro, with his buddy reporter and some connection back to Buzzfeed...scripted this whole thing from start to finish.
Bretbart may have acted in a stupid way....but they were more or less dragged around to this situation and became part of some ‘act’.
It is a continuing trend where reporters are no longer reporters but part of some theater or opera deal, and the public eventually figures this out and loses patience with journalists.
Michelle Fields ia hispanic. I saw the video. She is a liar and should be arrested for filing a false police report.
They do seem to be imploding. I suppose this is a good example of what happens when you take on self-serving attention seekers who would rather be the news than report the news.
A shame.
I don’t have that impression at all. There is internal chaos in breitbart. maybe it will be done now that they have purged the people who do not want trump. They have zero credibility as an objective news organization because of the blatant pro Trump bias, much like Sean Hannity who has become a laughing stock.
There seems to be a lot more to this story that we don’t know about. Like another poster said, there are too many media types that are trying to make the news instead of just reporting it from a neutral position, but it is a growing trend, especially between the pro/anti Trump people.

Yeah. The site has never been the same since Andrew died. This year, the decline has accelerated.
Both Breitbart and NR have forgotten that their sites should be about issues, not pimping for/against particular candidates.
Did he resign because of the Michelle Fields situation?
