Thursday, May 5, 2016: Live Stream of the Donald Trump for President rally in Charleston, WV at the Charleston Civic Center beginning at 7:00 PM EDT
Charleston, WV
Charleston is the capital and largest city of the State of West Virginia. It is located at the confluence of the Elk and Kanawha Rivers in Kanawha County. As of the 2013 Census Estimate, it had a population of 50,821, while its metropolitan area had 224,743. It is a center of government, commerce, and industry.
Early industries important to Charleston included salt and the first natural gas well. Later, coal became central to economic prosperity in the city and the surrounding area. Today, trade, utilities, government, medicine, and education play central roles in the city's economy.

Thanks. This is helpful. I guess what was so surreal was their apparent inability to see the flaws in his own character that contributed to Cruz’ demise as a candidate. Of course, yesterday was not the day to bring them up in conversation.
In the interest of cold hard reality, the Civic Center Coliseum is an outdated, cramped, dark, bleak East German concrete brutalist bunker.
But it’s the only indoor public venue large enough for an event like this.
Truth be told he should also go to the WVU Coliseum where he could also draw in PA voters but my guess is the lefties at the university would kick off about it.
For later
Restless night I had due to what I think is sciatica. Ouch.
>>And tonite he walks onto the stage without the baggage of Cruz & Kasich to deal with.<<
I’m so happy those two career, establishment stooges are out of the race, so that Mr. Trump can now focus all his attention on the real danger America faces: Hillary Clinton.
I tuned into Rush yesterday.
I could not believe how grieved he was about Cruz losing. He seemed to be VERY emotionally invested in Cruz. I don’t know how anyone could feel that way. It made me realize how much Rush must despise Trump because of all of the negative things he said about Cruz, especially the Lyin’ Ted nickname.
Apparently he had what he “thought” was a friend text him when Cruz got out. The friend expressed his relief that Cruz was out, as he couldn’t listen to the sap any longer. Well, Rush was livid - you could tell he no longer wanted that person for a friend. I found that a little odd. I know people who like Cruz, and dislike Trump. We can express opinions without risk of losing friendship. Rush was so fond of Cruz that he dumps a friend who is turned off by Cruz.
Sorry for the diatribe - the whole thing just struck me as odd.
MustKnowHistory...gee. Toughie.
For what its worth... even if you only see one spark of helpful info here;

This is similar to experiencing the death of a close friend. I think most of the phases of loss will apply,i.e. denial, anger, etc.
When someone experiences a tragic or terrIble loss, they need to talk about it, obviously.
Someone one once told me that the grieving person should seek out 5 or so different people that they can bear their souls to...get it all out and truely grieve. At that point, ostensibly, the grieving person can begin the healing process further.
There is no reason this is different for Cruz supporters, as opposed to other losses, as some of them (Cruz supporters) really are attached to him and his message. It is a very personal loss for many of them. Something to recognize I suppose.
Now, throw in the situation at hand...a major election year with emotions flying all over..gee.
Good luck.
I heard that too. And before that, I turned in Beck, and he was of course talking about how easy it would be to beat Hillary... Easy. And I’m thinking... finally the guy is going to tell us that he’s for Trump....NOPE... He says instead of Trump, the whole country will assure that he’s not elected.
Rush was talking about Trump like he was a freak show.
What has Ted Cruz done to become president. Seriously? What right does he or any of them for that matter, have rights to be president? Maybe Rick Perry..Maybe Jeb Bush in terms of their resume, but they were rejected.
They got out with Trump in there. I all knew that couldn’t beat the man.
You are absolutely correct. They are in some grief process and they need to work through it. I think I will not go to lunch with them for a few weeks and then reconnect, hoping they are in a better place then.
I appreciate all who can help me with this.
Looks good. Thanks, nikos.
Thanks Judy! The situation you describe is very similar.
Trump...Trump....Trump.
I just felt like saying that.
Oh. well. I'll be back!
Vote Trump!
I just noticed that.
I thought maybe the picture of the Trumps might have been a Getty image and that is not allowed.
Maybe repost it without the picture—it was a good post.
In any event, ask the Admin Mod about it.
It’s very classy that Trump is going through the scheduled rallies. Those events can’t be cheap to fund.
It will be interesting to see if the crowds at his rallies are smaller now that the primary season has pretty much ended with the withdrawal of Cruz and Kasich, or whether they are bigger because this essentially marks the beginning of the general election campaign against Clinton.
I did some research yesterday, and found that Trump over-performed his Real Clear Politics average for the last 7 primaries starting with NY and ending with IN by 9 percentage points. In Indiana his RCP average was 42.8 percent, and he won it by 54.7, over-performing by 11.9 percentage points. Cruz over-performed his RCP average by 5, and Kasich under-performed by 7. So, it looks as if Trump picked up some from Kasich, expanded his lead among republicans, and even picked up some independents and democrats.
Prior to the NY primary, Trump was over-performing by about 4 percentage points, but did under-perform by about 2 points in a couple of races, including VA and NC.
He even over-performed his RCP average in Wisconsin by .6 percent.
So, there is a definite upsurge after WI. If this over-performance in the republican primaries carries over into the polls of the head to head match-ups between Clinton and Trump, he could actually be within the margin of error or even beating her at this point. Either way, with 6 months to go during which he will unload his heavy artillery on the slow moving, lumbering target named Hillary, there is plenty of time for him to make up any deficits he may have.
Good points.
I know if the tables were turned and Trump had dropped out and Cruz was on a huge wave of winning momentum,I’d probably be over in the corner licking my wounds for awhile.
I went toe-to-toe with some Cruz supporters during this process. I’m sure I’ve alienated a few and a few have done the same to me. I don’t plan on carrying a terminal grudge toward them. I don’t have any grudge now. However, I have no idea how they will carry on re interacting with me. I just can’t worry about it.
There are a few anti-Trump people here who seem to have shifted gears towards acceptance. That takes a big person and I applaud that. There are a couple who seem to now relish being in the position of ankle-biter and just nitpick every thing Trump says or does, still. While annoying, I know they are harmless. That’s because I believe everyone who got engaged on FR truly loves America. That alone gives me hope.
At the end of the day, it’s all about America and how to save her. I don’t care about party labels or party purity or superior morality or any of that. America is in the middle of a flat-line heart attack and if the doctor who saves her and brings her back is less than perfect, I don’t give a damn.
I want my country back!
Vote Trump. Life goes on... and the indictment of Hillary begins in Charleston, WV!!! Oh what joy it is...
Yes, that is the common denominator: taking our country back.
