How about this?
Dear FBI. I want to get to the bottom of this corruption.
I can’t fire Comey, but I can veto every dollar appropriated for the FBI, eliminating the entire Bureau.
Now if Comey resigned, or if the evidence showing his guilt and the guilt of the DOJ was promptly turned over, I might be persuaded to change my mind...

If the U.S.A. survives, there will have to be a whole new wing built at Leavenworth.
The whole batch must go to prison.

The special counsel for the Valerie Plame investigation was not appointed under the Independent Counsel statute. It had expired before that.
The law is the same right now as it was when Patrick Fitzgerald was appointed. They could have appointed a special counsel for Hillary under the same procedure.

I think it’s even simpler than that — but I could be wrong.
Congress appropriates money. They have the power of the purse. Yes, it’s true that the president can veto spending bills, but that often gets messy.
But, as leader of the Executive Branch, I believe the president has direct control over agencies within that branch. Congress may appropriate money for the FBI, but if the chief executive refuses to spend that money ... does the bureau cease to exist?

They are too busy telling us about the Trump Foundation cease and desist order.

This is a good reason the FBI and Justice Dept need to be independent of the executive branch.

When there is no consistency in how justice is applied in a society, an ever increasing number of the citizenry will feel entitled to skirt the law. Backroom deals, black markets, you name it. This eventually leads to a progressive breakdown in the fabric of society. The key word here is "progressive." It's on purpose.

While I agree Comey is bought remember who actually negotiated and wrote up the Immunity Deals.
IT was the U.S. Justice Department. Loretta Lynch is the kingpin in this criminal enterprise.
I think she did it to cover for Obama’s use of the email server, the exact communications and perhaps financial ties for his decisions to the Clinton Foundation.

A comment on ZeroHedge:
‘We are witnessing the last credible branch of our government burn to the ground, the one branch that was supposed to be the “safety valve” against the other two branches...’
Another safety valve is the election system, but what remains to protect it?

This makes perfect sense to me. If they'd not destroyed the laptops, someone who actually wanted to find something might have gotten hold of them.

The ZH comment on branches makes no sense. The House of Representatives was supposed to be the people’s safeguard, and the judicial branch intended to be the weakest branch. That was the argument in the Federalist Papers that carried the day.

Our election system’s been compromised for decades. It just gets more covert and worse with each passing election.

Somehow that power must be put into the hands of the states. It is clear the FedGov cannot investigate itself.
