New surveys show him making major swing-state gains, on cusp of paving electoral college path
Two shocking polls dropped on Wednesday show Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump may be finally on a path to an Electoral College victory.
Trump has been struggling to put together the final piece of the electoral puzzle in his presidential bid. In short, he needs 270 electoral votes, and taking the lead in some key swing states has remained elusive. But if the new polls are correct, at least two of those states are now firmly within Trumps reach.
In Virginia, Trump has jumped from 34 percent to 44 percent. Clinton gets 41 percent, a 5-point drop in one month, according to Hampton University.
The Hampton poll was conducted from Oct. 26 to Oct. 30. The margin of error is plus-or-minus 4.58 percent....

Good news.
Pray this continues.
Rolling like an Abrams tank through Baghdad.
RCP Outliers
If Trump takes Virginia, it’s all over.
Virginia is the last piece to the electoral puzzle and should rejoin her sister Southern states. Now is the time!
And those caissons go rolling along.....GO TRUMP-PENCE!!!
I've been driving all over in northern VA to support Trump. Ran a lot of cars with Hillary stickers off the road, but am running low on gas and places to hide.
He’s a steamroller baby, and he’s gonna roll all over the crooked one.
Oh please God let it be true! As an independent but very, conservative resident of Virginia for the past 30 years I can tell you how sad it’s been to see this once very, red state go blue past 2 presidential elections.
I will dance in the streets if it does go for Trump.
Remember, Florida is very, important too. If Florida is called for Trump, I’ll open a bottle of bubbly and watch the elections all night. If he loses it...I’ll open a bottle of whisky and cry on the back porch.
A Thunder Run.
Yeah, it always pisseth me off when RCP “chooses” not to include polls favoring the Republican. Sometimes it is just a time delay, but it greatly reduces the validity of what you are looking at. Take NH for example. The polls showing Trump leading were out yesterday, but did not appear until just now. However, they are also using polling data going back to 10/23 which allows them to say the RCP average is still Clinton +1, but if you look at only polls from after the Comey announcement, it is Trump +3. The Virginia poll is not on RCP at all right now, and all the VA polls are pre-Comey with RCP average of Clinton +4.7
Virginia is a really schizophrenic place - Northern Virginia, the Washington DC collar counties, and the rest of the state, which is still orientated toward Christianity and older values. Think Liberty University in Lynchburg.
I’m always a little amazed at Northern Virginia. I belong to one of the largest (and very popular) evangelical churches in Northern Virginia. It’s HUGE, with a very big outreach ministry and very solidly Bible based. I keep scratching my head saying, “How do the liberals in Northern Virginia stand a chance with my church in the way!” :-D
I withdraw all my earlier negative comments about you.
Agreed!
Yep.
NOVA (Fairfax, Arlington Alexandria, Falls Church, and Loudoun County, to an extent) has become infiltrated with “enlightened” people such that when coupled with the demographics of some areas of Richmond and Tidewater, the rest of the state cannot overcome.
Thank you for the retraction.
He’s got to win FL, but if he takes VA, then I predict he will win FL.
Perfect
