Both have been US Attorneys with strong track records. Hearing Rudy may not want to be AG and Sen. Sessions gets whatever role he chooses.
So this remains up in the air but let’s keep fingers crossed.

AG has to be The President’s attorney. This has to be Giuliani. Nixon had Mitchell. Reagan had Casey (former CIA spook). Bush had Al Gonzolez hoping to make him a Supreme Court Justice and thus the first Hispanic and ya da da, but Al was weak and not particularly helpful to Bush or able to deal with Leahy, Kennedy and Schumer. They have to be a bit closer to serving only the President while also serving Justice. Holder and Lynch are tied to Obama at the hip, his alter ego. So yes make Rudy The AG, but let Trey be the AG in charge of criminal justice prosecutions and over the various U S Attorneys in the Judicial Districts. Put someone with a brain over the civil rights division who will treat true hate crimes against whites the same as those against Muslims and Blacks, etc.

I agree with you, but if AG is taken, I think Rudy would be a good choice for FBI. There is no way that the traitor Comey can stay unless he wants to be investigated and tried for obstruction of justice.

And the name recognition, and the proven loyalty, and the experience (having prosecuted Mafia members). Rudy is the best possible choice for AG, by a mile.
You are mistaking Senate to House (Congress). Comfortable lead in Congress, razor thin in the Senate. But in two years, the Senate is going to look far different with many democrats in red states up. Not to mention some so-called Republicans like Flake.

I’m not enthusiastic for Gowdy. His greatest talent seems to be asking crushing questions in front of a camera and rolling over as soon as the cameras stop.
I'm a big Gowdy fan. He is the guy to go after the Clintons as Attorney General. But there is a bit of a debt owed by Trump to Rudy who would do every bit as good a job. Trump has to pay that debt (at least IMHO.)
What would Rudy rather have or at least happily settle for if not Attorney General?
