Some faculty members, meanwhile, told the interviewers that students were not prepared for their classes, and that they’d observed deterioration in the quality of students accepted to Harvey Mudd over the years. They described students as wed to their phones and not committed to the sciences. And this is what "affirmative action" will produce. Every. Stinking. Time.

Sounds like one of the last serious centers of science and math education is being wrecked by the “diversity police.”
Diversity drones demanding that a great institution conform to their preferences and whiny “needs”.... they can’t make it under the existing standards so everything has to be weakened and modified to suit them.

No kidding ... It's an engineering school. It's supposed to be hard. Not everybody will be able to hack it. Not everybody should be able to hack it. Best thing is to weed out the non-hackers as quickly as possible and bid them goodbye.
