O’Reilly Says ‘Completely Unfounded Claims’ Led to His Ousting
Washington Free Beacon ^

Posted on 04/20/2017 7:34:16 AM PDT by bryan999

Bill O'Reilly released a statement on Wednesday clarifying his departure from Fox News, saying that "completely unfounded claims" were the cause.

The departure came in the wake of multiple sexual harassment allegations against the cable news star, but his statement remained positive toward his former employer, Mediaite reported.

"Over the past 20 years at Fox News, I have been extremely proud to launch and lead one of the most successful news programs in history, which has consistently informed and entertained millions of Americans and significantly contributed to building Fox into the dominant news network in television," O'Reilly stated.

"It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today," he continued, alluding to the sexual harassment allegations.

"I will always look back on my time at Fox with great pride in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my dedicated viewers. I wish only the best for Fox News Channel," he concluded.

O'Reilly had worked for Fox News for over 20 years before he was released on Wednesday.

...saying that "completely unfounded claims" were the cause.

That, and the $13 million paid out for "founded" claims...and the revolt of the advertisers which has threatened to spread to other shows...and the fact that you don't have anyone in the building willing to go to bat for you.

As did all of the Trump accusers. Where have they all gone?

OTOH, I think O’Reilly could be guilty of something. I remember when he used to have that buxom blonde Russian girl who used to have a segment to tell us the origin of words....I always thought there was some reason (other than the origin of words) that she had that spot.

......the faux outrage from the left is about protecting women from men of power. Where were they when A US President was sticking cigars in a young intern inside the Oval Office?....

They were plotting how to capitalize on Bill Clinton's ability to get it on w/ younger women.

===============================================

STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE---Bill Clinton pioneered the ride the lie through to the end MO---when Pres Bill got lewinskied in the Oral Office, the first thing the cunning Clintons did was take a poll. The poll told them Billy had to stall for time, to lie for as long as he possibly could, before coming clean.

=====================================================

The patented "Clinton-Saves-His-***- Act."

One Clinton lies .....

"I never had sexual relations with that woman...Miss Lewinsky."

...... and the other one swears to it.

=============================================

VINTAGE TIME COVER The Clintons leave the WH
arm-in-arm after Bill got lewinskied. Plotting to exploit
Bill's BJ for votes, the Clintons' political apparat never faltered.

Hillary later went on network TV all decked out in virginal pearls,
denying everything, blaming Billy's B/J on "an invention of a VRWC."

Bill later admitted to it, was impeached, and disbarred.
He had to pay Paula Jones 800,000 dollars.

==========================================

"Incidentally Chelsea, did your kindly sensitive parents tell you the reason you were being hustled off (in that classic "smiling Clinton solidarity pose" on the vintage TIME cover?) Did mom and dad tell you daddy got a BJ in the Oval office? Did they explain the details of a BJ to you?

Don't know if this is credible, but I read on Facebook yesterday that it was the wives of the 2 young Murdochs that said O'Reilly must go and what they say goes.

As an aside, Greta wrote that when Ailes was fired last year that left a clause in their contracts that they could get out of the contract. She took advantage of that clause.

It seems very obvious that since the Murdochs took over Fox that the network is being run by lib Amateurs. The once great news organization will now sink into the Same gutter slime as the rest if the MSM.

R.I.P. Fox...it was great while it lasted.

Yes, the young lady was a willing participant. However, the formula many on the left are using to express outrage was the same. In fact, one can argue that the women filing complaints were far older and more mature than Monica was. Billy Jeff was far more powerful than O’Reilly to boot.

That was my point. They express outrage because a “person of power tries to take advantage of that power over a far less powerful female subordinate.” How can they make this point without acknowledging their own complicity in covering for Billy Jeff?

Doublethink is the act of simultaneously accepting two mutually contradictory beliefs as correct, often in distinct social contexts. Doublethink is related to, but differs from, hypocrisy and neutrality. Also related is cognitive dissonance, in which contradictory beliefs cause conflict in one’s mind. Doublethink is notable due to a lack of cognitive dissonance—thus the person is completely unaware of any conflict or contradiction.

I’ve been a female for over 50 years.

When I was 17, the personnel director of the hospital I worked at, said, on my 3rd day on the job:

“If you do %&$(@??! with me, you’ll get to keep your job. If not, forget about it. I’ll have you out of here by next weekend.”

I was scared; it was my first “grown up” job. And yes, I was a virgin.I’d graduated from high school only weeks before.

THAT, ladies & gentlemen, is sexual harassment. It didn’t even have a name then, and there were no penalties for doing it.

I have a very hard time with these broads who holler “harassment” every time a man acts like a male. I’m no special pleader for Bill O’Reilly; he may very well be a dog. But I see females who show up to work every day as though they are headed to the beach and flirt like they are being paid my the minute. Yet act offended when they get the desired response.

In my case, I was lucky....very lucky. When I described the incident to the GM of the hospital (the senior man who hired me), he believed me. Looking back, I think I might have been the last complaint about this character, not the first.

It also helped when I mentioned that I had an Italian father who drove around with an axe under the front seat of his van. Just in case.

Personnel manager was gone in 72 hours.

I guess the left would have been OK with it if he had made passes at men.

Where “sexual harassment” can be anything from making an approving comment about a woman’s looks to merely winking at her.

Women can do this to men in the workplace without consequence, of course. But not the reverse.
