Advertisers are turning to gay couples and ethnic minorities to sell their products
Advertisers are so worried about being accused of racism or homophobia they are shying away from using images of white people and straight couples.
Marketing departments are even putting diversity above relevance to their target audience to avoid accusations of bigotry, a survey of 500 companies has found.
A third of advertisers questioned said they had used fewer white models and heterosexual couples over the past year. More than a third of these said they were taking this approach to prevent perceived discrimination.
The findings are likely to trigger accusations of political correctness but show a marked change in attitudes in the advertising industry, which has until recently had a reputation for under-representing ethnic minorities.

Based on watching Dr. Who, you would think it was filmed in Oakland or high black concentration place (interestingly few Latinos and the only Asians are an occasional hot Asian chick). You would also think you don’t have a chance with any hot White chick since they are all hooked up (and I use that term purposefully).
So this new trend I find unsurprising as it is not new at all.

The same thing is happening in American advertising.
I see it here, too. Every commercial practically. Look at the game show hosts now. Or the “reporters” on the national “news” broadcasts.
Sometimes it gets so numerous my wife and I look at each other and say “is this only who watches prime time anymore”? The tokenism and blatant prejudice is obvious.

And to add a little spice and emphasis to their PC bona fides here in the States, advertisers always make any white male look or act like a complete idiot.
It’s FAR beyond what would be proportional to the population - it’s as if marketers are doing advertising reparations to avoid complaints from SJWs.

That’s exactly what it is . . . You’d think blacks were all buddy=buddy with everyone, hangin out in bars, watchin games, livin next door. As you said the numbers are way out of proportion and quite frankly, how many Latinos and Asians do you see? Hardly any.
