Lawyers for Awans cite evidence of widespread procurement fraud by House Democrats
World Tribune ^ | 10/05/17 | Staff

Imran Awan, his brothers and their associates were merely doing what they were “ordered to do” by Democratic members of Congress when the IT aides allegedly falsified records on how the members’ office budgets were spent, according to lawyers for Awan.

**SNIP**

One of Imran’s lawyers, Aaron Page, who acknowledged the invoicing discrepancy on office equipment last month, told DCNF, “This is just how things have been done for forever. This is what experienced members of Congress expect: to expedite things, they adjust the pricing.”

Luke Rosiak of DCNF’s Investigative Group noted that “If members or senior staff instructed IT aides to misrepresent how budgets were spent, that could potentially explain why officials have not charged the Awans with crimes related to procurement, even a full year after House authorities gathered documentation showing invoices that claimed expensive technological items cost $499 instead of their true price: potentially an open-and-shut violation.”

Sorry, the Nuremberg defense didn’t work then; it’s not going to work now.

Not with Smiley in charge of the DOJ. One of the greatest disappointments of the Trump admin is Sessions inability or unwillingness, or both, to do anything. Sure, he can arrest 800 illegals from any number of points around the country but compared to the gravity and seriousness of crimes committed by those he won’t touch.....that is abysmal, it’s nothing. Chaffetz has already stated he’s not going to do anything about S. Rice, S. Powers, probably not Comey, and now we have this Awan thing....perhaps the greatest and most widespread espionage and self-dealing cabal that ever existed, certain to escape prosecution. Or maybe the Awans get dirted big time. Frankly, a few million in stolen office supplies isn’t that big a deal. However, the idea that Pak intelligence was CC’ed on every national security item for a decade or more is beyond shocking.

As long as nobody from the prior admin gets soiled it looks he’s doing his job just fine.

/spit.

I’d say “Wow” but my expectations to see justice performed on the denizens of the District of Criminals has been muchly decreased by the fact all the little gangsters are running free on the Hill thanks to the Obola epidemic.

That’s one way to clean the House of RATs. Now we just have to think of a way to clean out the other RATs masquerading as pubbies.

It’s really hard to tell which group of liars is lying the most: the family of Pakistani thieves and con artists, or the Democrat House members who hired and used the Paki’s IT “services”.

Democrat Clarke's Caribe Connection could prove to be interesting. Clarke had the answers for Democrats as to where to stash tax dollars

Interesting dots you connected there. This could go wide and deep. I remember the Xlintons coming back from overseas after Lewinsky, stopping on a Caribbean island (no doubt with suitcases full of cash) and dancing under the palm trees for the cameras. Maxine Waters' husband has or had business dealings there too, as I recall.

This is how congress people supplement their income the invoice gets paid, the equipment is refunded, and the total amount of the purchase is kicked back less, say 10 percent.

I’ll bet all of Congress does it and is why it is the uniparty, they all know they are doing it and if one breaks by speaking the truth they will all answer for it.

Want to bet I am right?

So the Awans were selling stuff they stole from Congress and splitting the profits with their Democrat employer/accomplices. Is that what the article is implying? I didn’t think it was entirely clear.

That would completely explain why the Democrats are protecting them. The congress critters wouldn’t want to be fencing stolen goods, but happy to let someone else do the dirty work and split the profits.

For a congress critter, that seems like petty cash? Why waste time stealing from petty cash when you have access to the bank vault?
