A ”generic” politician always does better than an actual politician.
The economy is a JUGGERNAUT.
The Democrats need to get onboard or get out of the way. If they derail it, they are finished.
We have to approach a presidential year turnout to be on the safe side, and we all have to be wary of Democrat vote fraud too!

One possible interpretation: they want to show the Democrat leadership how unhappy they are over the Schumer-shutdown-cave-in, and so are demonstrating that they can stop the pump-job and be fair anytime they want.
Another possible interpretation: they realize there’s no way the Democrats take the House this November, and are preparing their dim-bulb suicidal viewers now.
A national poll for a district vote for the house is meaningless. It would be horribly skewed by Cali, NY, Il.

Back when he and I used to visit, I once threw off on Charlie Cook (Cook Political Report).

I told him Cook was a Democrat hack, he used to work for J. Bennett Johnson, and consistently over-polled for Dems. Stu wouldn’t hear it, and claimed Charlie was “non-partisan.”
It goes to show that you cannot live/work inside the Beltway Bubble for an extended period, without it affecting your thinking.
Who cares what the Senate does? It takes more than that...a LOT MORE.
Not only is the generic party ballot a lagging indicator, but the trend favors the GOP. Other key factors also tilt Republican: the booming economy; a substantial cash advantage; Democratic party disunity and disfunction; and the salience of two winning issues — illegal immigration and Obama era government misconduct.
Hell, a +6 Dim in an ABC poll means a GOP blowout in 2018 if it holds.
Republicans turn out when they have Conservative candidates who oppose illegals and the deep state.
Dims in trouble.
