The United States of America ain’t Switzerland. Or any other country. We are fortunate to live in a Constitutional Republic, the founding documents of which are the greatest tools for liberty and self-government ever written. Let’s stick to that.

Cultures don’t mix, except for in that golden age of America before the rabble rousers found out they could destroy this country from within with just a little division.

And a lot of multiplication.

Segregation is here today and it works,
such as Chicago or inner city segregation.

Only Democrat Government forced segregation fails.

"Here in America, we have 1 gun per person"

There is a difference between the number of people owning guns and the number of guns owned. A person owning 5 guns does not mean they are available for 5 people. So, there is no way that the U.S. has 1 gun per person. I hope you understand this distinction because the Left is using it to confuse U.S. gun ownership with the estimated number of guns owned to drive up their case on murder rate.

The mass shootings are down significantly from what they were in he 1980s. In fact the murder rate is down. Here is a look at the U.S. murder rates for those who have not the persistence to dig through the garbage to find the good stuff:

What’s the ratio? A about a hundred to one?

Switzerland is a good example to cite if you want to demonstrate that the widespread proliferation of firearms is not dangerous in and of itself. That doesn’t mean the legal system in Switzerland as it relates to guns is something we’re trying to emulate, though.

“The swiss govt at any time could change its mind and require every person to turn all their guns in.”

That would require a unanimous vote of all Swiss Cantons which, while possible, is highly unlikely.

There's one problem with your graphic there. You can't really use homicide rates to do a statistical comparison of crime figures over time.

The reason for this is simple: Using homicides instead of violent crimes (or shootings in particular) as the basis of your measurement overlooks the most important factors in declining homicide rates in recent decades: improvements in trauma care and growth in urbanization in this country (which makes it easier to get a crime victim to a hospital quickly).

The issue is not as it appears- it is not the absence of crimes committed with firearms or demographics- it is clearly in my opinion, that the US homicide rate has been driven to the bottom of the scale by the upsurge of lawful carry of arms across most of the several states.

Seriously, compare the rate of murder in the US in 1970 to that of today, even with these crazies shooting up venues and public places. If Auto crash rates dropped so precariously we’d be shouting the success from the highway overpasses. The greatest threat to a shooter intent upon mayhem is not a cop, not a SWAT team, but the chance of them meeting an armed citizen along the way. Ask an inmate.

Alas, we still have places that ae the soft underbelly of our society where murderous rampages are likely- schools in most states ( MO is not one of them in general-armed staff faculty since 2014) hospitals, sporting events, concert venues etc. The logic used by the state is the most useless argument. Always protect the most at risk scenario first ( ask why the military forces folks not to bunch up while in combat operations- the obvious answer is that a mass of targets is so much easier to engage than those separated- close as in “hand grenades and horseshoes”).

Finally, if one looks at the rate of firearms accidents since 1900, we see a process-control success story of the near impossibility of a 95%+ drop in that area. IOWs, firearms safety has reached the near statistical impossibility of an increased safety rate to the 95th percentile- a confidence interval engineers and statistical process control folks drool over!

The marches on guns are not about safety- but about tyranny and statist control, the marchers are the useful idiots who will the most easily controlled in any event.

The rest of us are not so stupid.

While their is nothing wrong with the things the Swiss are doing with respect to guns, they are not what is making a difference between the Swiss rate of the deadly violent use of firearms versus that rate in the U.S.

It really boils down to what is it that leads to a person becoming a deadly killer. That is a behavioral issue and not an issue of “does everyone know how to use a gun correctly issue”. I do not believe for a second that what the Swiss are doing will change the things in this country that lead to their being so many killers. It sounds nice, and maybe more people would be able to defend themselves from the killers, but I don’t think it will change the “production” of killers, whatever the individual and/or collective causes.

"...Because white people have such good impulse control, right?..."

Caucasians of Western European culture have one of lowest rates of violence and crimininality on the planet.

Everything we hear from the Elites on this topic is designed to make us think otherwise.

For White people, violence is simply not the norm.

The Elites seek to destroy us, so it's a good idea to assume the exact opposite of everything they say.

"...I don't know why you brought the idea of 'minorities' into the discussion..."

Because it is estimated that approximately 90% of all violent crime in America is perpetrated by nonwhites.

Just think if suddenly the violent crime rate dropped by 90%.

It would almost be a utopia. My kids would be able to play in my front yard.

"....I really do not have the patience nor tolerance to hang with someone who probably just cares about skin color anyways,...."

It has been found that overwhelmingly, white people separate not according by race but by values.

And I DO have tolerance for people like that.

People like that serve to maintain the fabric of our society.

I respect that. I want to live around people who share my desire for civilization.
