Federal judge orders Trump admin to restart DACA program
The Washington Times ^ | August 3, 2018 | Stephen Dinan

A federal judge on Friday said the government must restart the entire DACA deportation amnesty, including accepting brand new applications — but gave the administration a chance to appeal before his ruling takes effect.

The ruling by Judge John D. Bates is a major blow to President Trump, and creates even more confusion about his immigration policy.

Judge Bates said Mr. Trump and his Homeland Security Department do have the power to revoke the Obama-era DACA program, but they cut too many corners in the way they tried to do it.

IOW, I hate you and while you have the absolute right to do this, I think i can make it a longer, more convoluted and more expensive process..."

re: leaving the Republican Party. I agree with those sentiments toward those who run the party, who hate us. But I stay in the party. If there’s enough of us, we can vote for candidates we hope will be better. There are more of us than there are of them, but finding candidates who aren’t already compromised and can move up in the party isn’t easy.

If we had a real SOTHOR a real Republican Congress and a real House Judiciary Committee this ass clown judge would be in front of that committee tomorrow to explain himself.

I ask, what other congressional business is more important than a judge making horrendous statements such as this:

"...the government needs to prove that it has considered the benefits to society of having illegal immigrants here and working, versus the government’s interest in enforcing the laws as written. "?

WTH?

——By whom?-—

By those looking for an impeachable offense. The fact he doesn’t comply with a judges order or even the appearance of non compliance is all that’s required by the panicked leftist loonies

I can still do now what I did before for candidates that are OK. Locally, the Republican candidates are too far left for me, so I can’t really do any grassroots or volunteer here. I support Trump. I’m not mentally a Republican anymore.

Here in Cuyahoga County (and all of OH?) it's like the Republican Party is a secret society that chooses people such as Kasick. If a candidate shows up on the ballot who ISN'T endorsed by the Republican State Committee, I vote for that person. If there isn't anyone except their fave, I write someone in, just to not vote their way.

I would switch to a third party that came closer to my priorities if they were serious about winning. I'm a Rand Paul smaller gov, less globalism kind of gal.

I switched to the Conservative Party of New York State. They are not perfect but they do what they can without erasing themselves out of existence.

The reply should be that the Supreme Court has already ruled on this issue with clarity and that the district judge himself should take the matter up with the Supremes and that any further interference with legislative and executive powers by this judge would be viewed as sedition making the judge subject to arrest. Let the judge prove it before the supremes...not the president.

Not only that, it’s purely a set of Executive branch decisions so that a judge claiming to have the authority to rule it should be continued could provide grounds for impeaching the bastard who did so.

In a way, though, it’s a sign we’re making progress. He’s delaying effectiveness pending appeal indicates an awareness that the issue’s in doubt and that the Feds aggressively appeal these activist rulings. He’s saving himself the embarrassment of the appellate court putting an immediate hold on it.

I’d take the appeal.. through all the steps.. in the slowest possible way.

Well, reading the actual decision, it’s clear that he only gave them a 20 day stay in which to request a stay from an appellate court, so apparently he’s not a “tuned-in” as I initially surmised.

Course of action’s still the same, though: long...slow...appeal.
