Yes. This Times article pretends to defend Trump, but in fact is full of lies. The Crown Prince is a friend of the West and democracy, and the guy who was killed was a Muslim terrorist of the worst kind.

Trump chose to maintain the status quo with the Saudis, which given the limited set of alternatives isn't necessarily a bad thing.
If the Saudis don't follow Trump's lead going forward however, we'll know letting them off the hook was a mistake.

The guy running the show now, Mohammed Bin Salman, was 16 years old on 9/11 and is trying to rein in Wahhabism while reforming other rigid, religiously-mandated rules that has left Saudi Arabia mired in the dark ages.
