The female FBI lawyer who was caught sending anti-Donald Trump texts lied about her relationship with FBI agent Peter Strzok when the director of the bureau confronted her, a new book exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com reveals.

Lisa Page told Andrew McCabe that she and Strzok were not an item and had never been romantically involved.

Page was 'acutely embarrassed, mortified' that her affair was public but chose to lie rather than tell the truth, writes James B. Stewart in his new book Deep State: Trump, the FBI, and the Rule of Law, out today.

When their relationship did become public, so did the texts they exchanged mocking Trump and his supporters, with the two becoming a symbol of the so-called Deep State that was out to get the President.

She was a whore and conspirator to the coup. She still belongs in prison.

Well...if she wasn’t really doing ‘it’ with ole Pete, then the whore status is null and void. Conspirator? Yes...without doubt.

I have seen pictures of Lisa Page. I bet she looks good in a bikini. She is in good shape and a lot of guys would hit on her.

If you are President of the most powerful, sovereign national entity in the known universe and under oath to ‘preserve, protect and defend’...it’s no longer JUST your business. You know that going in.

It’s the ‘business’ of other people too at that point.... starting with, but NOT limited TO, the people you made an oath to ‘preserve, protect and defend’.

Thanks to Linda Tripp, a lot of stuff got under the glare of public notice and put the President and the US in a jackpot.

We are weak when we are compromised... over ANYTHING.

It’s not a problem for Joe Shmo, but for a US President … it IS.

I hear this is Stewarts attempt to expose the deep state as the savior of the nation in his view.

Session had me fooled. I suspect Session was their “secret weapon” planted early in case Trump won.

Sessions has certainly gone into hiding. Over time, I came to detest the man.

but chose to lie rather than tell the truth,...

Well, she is a lawyer so must have just been default behavior. ;-)

According to this article, the two did in fact have an affair. She at first denied it, then later attempted to minimize it, claiming it was over but they were still friends and that’s why they texted each other.

Not mentioned in the article is that they discussed using their personal phones in this caper but apparently their privately owned phones were never collected, only their work phones.

“Well, “it’s just sex” ...”

“... had never been romantically involved”

Just a couple of alley cats. That will absolve them of any lying to federal officials charges.

Considering Peter Strzok, it’s reasonable that she was embarrassed to the point of mortification. Who wouldn’t be?

Unless she wasn’t lying and the affair was just an excusee for more redactions.

Apparently she has some sort of gross deformity or terrible illness not readily visible.

“rather than for his lying under oath.”

I know he was impeached for lying under oath but the lying was over an affair.

Bill Clinton had a track record of flagrant immorality. He got what he deserved and so abstractly I believe that an affair is sort of nobody’s business but Bill’s affair became a scandal.

There’s nothing that rivets the public like a scandal. That includes me.

Per BJ Clinton’s defense, the family and survivors of Al Capone are owed huge compen$ation, because the government had absolutely no evidence of murder and racketeering, so put him away for essentially life for, gasp, TAX EVASION.
