Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) ripped Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Monday for her "astonishing" remarks on New York City's increased crime rates.
Huckabee, speaking on Fox News, criticized the first-term Democratic lawmaker for saying at a recent virtual town hall meeting that factors contributing to the increased crime could include high unemployment and people who "need to feed their child" because "they don't have any money."
“There’s a big difference between shoplifting and cold-blooded murder, and for her not to know the difference is frankly astonishing,” Huckabee said on “America's Newsroom."
Shootings in New York are up 46 percent in the first six months of this year compared to the same period in 2019, with homicides up 21 percent, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).
“Her saying, ‘People are hungry so they’re going out and lifting bread’ — no, they are going out and killing people randomly,” said Huckabee, a Fox News contributor. “You don't kill a 1-year-old because you need some bread. That doesn’t put bread on your table. And that's why the absurdity of her remarks have to be called out.”
“She needs to walk it back and recognize that violent crime has nothing to do with people's lifting some bread,” he added.

I grew up in her district and trust me: Everyone I know who lives there absolutely hates her guts. She won by voter fraud by organizing illegals to vote for her, and multiple complaints have been made to the NY board of elections, but guess what? Surprise! That also is corrupt! Don’t go by her Twitter account because that’s heavily censored. Go look at her Facebook page, all she gets is attacked. Now she has this campaign to further defund the police while shootings are up 200% in NYC.
By the way, how many FReepers remember the FR Inaugural Ball (Bush re-election celebration) in DC in January of 2005 where Huckabee and his "Capitol Offense" band provided the dance music, including rock 'n roll and country.
Huck played the bass gee-tar and sang....and he and the band were so much fun you almost didn't want to dance, just look at them and laugh and clap. They all wore tuxedos and bow ties in keeping with the elegance of the FReeper Ball......till everyone immediately let loose and enjoyed one of the fun-est get-togethers in our FR history.

LOL I don’t know how one can dance to C&W music, but Rock ‘n Roll would have been good. Did you ever spend time at the Aragon ballroom, Willobrook ball room (my favorite) or there were a few more but the names escape me. I have danced to Guy Lombardo’s at Willowbrook, and it was a dreamy nice place.
