Good, we won't need another give-away money program. What we need is for these Communist/totalitarian governors to open up and get people back to work.

This was a cluster from the beginning.

Way too pessimistic. Both parties’ goal is the same, to mindlessly squander money we don’t have. To pass this the republicans will just use their time-tested strategy: Cave in on tons of the stuff the rats want, and it’ll pass
No problem

People will find work when the checks run out. It’s human nature.

Remember when hussein made it so you could collect for 99 weeks. Many people just rode the gravy train until the checks stopped.

When these people need to find jobs they will be more likely to raise hell about everything being shut down.

The KungFlu will suddenly go away.

As long as they get a big check every week they won’t care if it lasts forever.

My life changed when I finally realized that.

The focus should be on getting America BACK TO WORK. And soon! It is a real tragedy that the real importance of the Presidency becomes BUYING IT....time to really go after the real problem...the DEMOCRAT GOVERNORS AND MAYORS who are crushing our economy POLITICALLY AND DELIBERATELY.

For the virus: the cure is far worse than the disease. Do the math.

Everything takes weeks/months when you have the work schedule the Senate does. There is no lazier bunch in the swamp than the U.S. Senators. And that is saying something.

Maybe they’ll get back to work now. Or just live the way they used to live before the $600/week + state unemployment bonus. Of the 4 people I know who were getting that $600/wk, NOT ONE of them would have made that much if they were working their regular job - and 2 of them were not entitled to it to begin with because they were not working at all before the virus attacked!!! But anyone who applied - here in Florida, at least — got it.

Does the fedgov/irs have problems doing math? The flat $600 was a stupid idea. They should have made it whatever percentage would be needed to bump unemployment up to equal 90% of people’s regular pay. They would be able to survive and still have motivation to go back to work.

McConnell: Stimulus Package Could Take ‘Weeks’ To Pass

Late enough for the Democrats to get all the political capital they can from it but still close enough to the election to anger the base. Great work, McConnell.

Just match whatever the States on paying for Unemployment Benefits. Someone gets $300 a week in Unemployment, the Fed match the $300 for a total of $600.

Unemployment is based on what people were earning when employed. The more they made while Employed, the more their Unemployment Compensation.

It is equitable, not a “I won the Lotto because I’m making more for not working than working” scheme for lower Wage Earners.

70% of someone's salary will not work.
States don't have the ability to figure that out.

You should extend the $600.00 benefit right now and let the senators figure out what the hell they want.

Americans are worried and angry.
The people you hang out with have no concept of what it's really like out here, and some of the advice they're giving you makes me wonder about their motives.
Who the hell proposed funding for a new fbi building?
