Food banks are feeling strains from inflated prices and increased demand, while President Joe Biden says a food shortage that is “going to be real” looms.
Food insecurity numbers have been on the rise since at least late Summer 2021, the Washington Post reported, citing the U.S. Census Bureau Household Pulse Survey, which compiles and releases data “on how the coronavirus pandemic has impacted people’s lives.” In early August, the survey showed that about eight percent of Americans who responded said they either “sometimes” or “often” did not have enough to eat.

All of this could have been avoided if we had a lucid President who was aware. This demented guy just reacts long after anything can be done to quickly reverse his own crisis he caused by his policies.

How many of them are what you’d term “undocumented?” When I was working I used to eat lunch nearby to a United Methodists Food Bank and in a town of thousands of them and they got people in there every day, walkups - baby mamas pushing their strollers to the food bank for handouts while baby daddy was up at Home Depot chasing pickups for cash labor work. Not must my obseration, either. A secretary where I worked volunteered there and said it was constant, unending. This was after they’d hit the local Publix with their WICs certificates.
Donations to charities has fallen significantly over the past 30 years. Why? That’s anyone’s guess, but many have suggested higher taxes eat the disposable incomes used to fund charities and people do not see needy people as they see illegal aliens getting the charity and the so-called poor have expensive televisions.
I could not care less. People who rely on food banks overwhelmingly vote for democrats.

My relative (retired) was a Township Supervisor in a suburb of Chicago. On the Township level, that is where most of the services for the elderly and food banks, etc. are handled.

Government has replaced the church. Government provides charity with no moral stings attached. Government has also supplanted the church as to determining what is moral. Think of abortion, gays, transsexuals, or privileged. God is a jealous God. He is not amused and there will be more consequences.
