Biden to announce authorization of E15 gasoline in an effort to increase US fuel supply, reduce gas prices

President Biden on Tuesday is set to announce that the Environmental Protection Agency will allow E15 gasoline—gasoline that uses a 15% ethanol blend—to be sold in the United States this summer in an effort to expand Americans’ access to affordable fuel supply amid the surge in gas prices across the nation.

The EPA is set to issue a national, emergency waiver. Without the action, the White House said E15 cannot be used in most of the country from June 1 to September 15. The EPA is expected to take final action to issue the emergency waiver closer to June 1.

As if E10 had not already destroyed enough engines for them.

We have a shortage of fertilizer and fertilizer is very costly at the moment. Corn is also used as Carole feed. So this is going to also increase food costs.

“E15 voids the warranty on small engines.”

By “small”, you mean like those under the hood of a car, right? Many cars made in the last 20 years specifically limit ethanol to 10%, as mentioned in their owner manuals.

Cars older than that, good luck. It’s going to be a “hot summer” with lots of car and home fires.

This also reduces gas mileage, so just like shrinkflation of food, you pay as much or more for less.

People don’t eat yellow dent #2 corn at least not directly it’s used in cattle, and chicken feeds through. The process of wet milling corn and making ethanol with it leaves distillers dried grains as a left over this also is first grade cattle food as cows don’t need the starch from corn in fact it hurts them they do need the proteins which is why DDG is great cattle food. E15 is currently only sold in winter months because it’s Reed vapor pressure in the warm months is too high for EPA approval. E15 is also only sold in marked and dedicated pumps for use in 2001 or newer vehicles only. It is in fact illegal to run SORE engines with it. This EO doesn’t add E15 to the existing E10 fuel pool nor replace E10 with E15 it simply waives the summer sunset of E15 at those dedicated pumps for it. The whole food for fuel is a straw man argument yellow dent is not human grade food and the by products of making hooch is better quality feed for the animals that should be eating it. As usual much to do about nothing. If anything it should add some much needed additional fuel volumes into the supply lines which should lower prices of the market is working and not rigged. It’s easy to avoid E15 by law nation wide it must be dispensed from a blue hose with clear warnings that it is only for flex fuel or 2001 model year or newer vehicles.

Florida has corn-free gasoline. Wawa is a reliable retailer carrying it.

Do the morons know ethanol comes from corn, a food crop, when food is in short supply?

Yes, they know, and they don't care ...

"Makes me want to go buy 200lbs of beans and rice."

That's the project I'm working on today... Vacuum packing 20lbs. of Great Northerns and 10lbs. of rice..

And don't forget flour, but it's kind'a hard to get it to hold a vacuum.. :(

You only buy gas in the summertime? If not you are already running E15 every winter.

You bet they know that they are diverting corn to be burned as a very inefficient fuel away from food production in the face of a looming world wide food shortage. For a totally manufactured reason to shut down oil production since burned ethanol creates more co2 than gasoline when distillation costs are taken into account. The Biden Administration’s actions are reminiscent of the disastrous and counterproductive decisions made during the 1920s and 1930s by the Soviet to collectivize and implement their ill considered policies. Their politically correct solutions to every one of their self inflicted disasters created a new disaster in it’s own right while at the same time making the original problem worse, not better. In this case, not only are Biden morons (or evil bastards if intentional) driving the potential for food shortages, but the artificial scarcity of corn is going to drive inflation across the board - for fuel costs and for food costs and food availability. The Biden crew also shares another trait with the Soviet Bolsheviks - a penchant for blaming their political opposition and persecuting them for the problems the Bolsheviks manufactured all by themselves. Team Biden has already brought the terrors of the 1980s Cold War back , now they are working on reinventing the Soviet tragedy of the 1920s and 30s here in America

That IS the intention. Evil is as evil does. First thing he did was to turn off the supply of regular crude through normaal methods and supply methods. Purposefully. Why was this allowed to be put into force, jobs lost, dominance in the world’s supply lost?

Is it E15 everywhere now? I see mostly E10 stickers on pumps in Texas, but maybe that sticker means nothing now. Do have a place nearby that is ethanol free, do buy that whenever not too inconvenient. 2008 sonata for sure runs better on it.

This will only help those with flex fuel vehicles. The waiver is hypocritical from Joe since he’s conducting a war on oil for “climate change” reasons.

Trump also did this in 2018 and the world did not end.

Trump was criticized for pandering to farmers. Joe will be praised for “doing something” when flex fuel is bad for smog and limited to certain vehicles. There’s 20-some million flex fuel cars in the US and 280-something vehicles on the road. This will effect less than ten percent of drivers. Compare that to a return to Trump energy policies which effected any vehicles on the road. This is more for headlines than for addressing the root causes.

"Exhausting food supplies isn’t a bug, it’s a feature."

...so is ruining engines that use fossil fuels.

Please understand this chaos is all intentional.
