Nothing is certain, that was just an educated guess from my assessment of how Russia would react.

Yes, which means that $40 billion given Ukraine today is just a down payment. If the neocons have their way this will be another multi-trillion dollar war before it’s over.

About time. Run the Russians out of the Black Sea.

No need to run them out of the Black Sea. Just send them to the bottom.

this could motivate the Russians to invade ALL of Ukraine’s southwestern territories

How? Will the Russians swim there?

No charge for exposing anti-American Neocons.

Tell me something, that $40b dollars to Zelenskyy you were cheering for, where did it come from?

There wasn't a coup. Yanukovych fled when it became apparent that Ukrainian security services weren't going to fire on the protesters. That realization made him suddenly desire to flee to his master Putin. The Ukrainian parliament then followed its constitution to appoint a successor.

Putin then decided to stir up his agents in the Donbas including some of the other oligarchs on his payroll and invaded Crimea. When the Ukrainians recovered some the Donbas, pro-Ukrainian locals were found murdered in mass graves. More or less what we've also seen in this war. Putin and the Russians are scum and always have been.

In most of the wars post 1945 the US has not dealt with opponents like the Russians. These other opponents were guerillas sheltering behind sympathetic or cowed civilians. The closest were the regular forces of Iraq, which used largely Soviet doctrines, as do the Russians, and the Iraqis were simply wiped away. The Russian system IS to depend on vast expenditure of ammunition from large numbers of artillery pieces. In Eastern European terrain these cannot be hidden, or perhaps such weapons can no longer be hidden anymore anyway.

Based on current videos, of which there is lots, mainly of Ukrainian guns firing counterbattery vs Russian artillery, Russian guns and launchers are placed and used the same old way, and, with their logistics, are sitting ducks to the vast range of weapons the USAF can bring to bear.

Did this give you and erection, Speedy?

Great idea if one wants to see more Ukrainians die and wants to see what is left of Ukraine continue to shrink.

It's all the more reason the Russians need to take Odessa and secure the whole coastline.

Russians will control the sea and air by the time this is over and can have missiles waiting if we're dumb enough to try an insurgency.

Run the Russians out of the Black Sea.

That's as likely as you dunking a basketball over LeBron James.

The Russians will control the entire coastline by the time this is done. Even NATO itself couldn't stop that by getting directly involved.

We are playing chutes and ladders, the Russiand are playing chess and the Chinese are playing GO.

That must explain why the territory the Russians control diminishes more and more almost every day. Russian strategic genius!

Russia lived without the Crimea from 1991 until 2014.

You're completely ignorant. The Russians have operated a naval base in Crimea since the last 1700s including during the period of time you reference.

Provoking Russia unnecessarily as Nigel Farage said several years ago is what is a danger to national security. And, you want to double down that strategy.

Neocons aren't sharpest tools in the shed.

And, what is truly and danger to the world is American last globalism, which you either knowingly or unwittingly are supporting.

Crimea was not Russian territory from 1991 to 2014. It still isn’t internationally recognized as Russian territory. They operated the naval base in Sebastopol together with the Ukrainians by treaty. Since they violated both the Budapest memoranda and the naval treaty, Russia no longer has any right to use Sebastopol. Whether anyone will be willing or able to force them out is another question.

The US is the second largest supplier of weaponry to Ukraine.

Behind the Russian army, of course.

There wasn't a coup.

You are propagandist rewriting history. Of course, there was a coup that threw out a democratically-elected President and installed radicals and neo-Nazis intent on committing genocide against ethnically Russian population. We backed it and it set off an eight-year civil war.

In Odessa, 39 people were forced into a trade union building and burned to death by neo-Nazis because they opposed the coup. In Mariupol, the Ukrainian nationalists killed seven police officers and burned the police station after the coup.

God damn you and lies to hell.

It actually might be a decent plan, since Russia can’t get any more ships into the Black Sea, and they have already proven that they can’t defend against the anti-ship missiles very well. So the ships they have there seem like sitting ducks if Ukraine has munitions to hit them with and the intelligence to target them.
