Updating our understanding of Earth's architecture
Science Daily ^ | Jun 09, 2022 | Staff Writers

New models that show how the continents were assembled are providing fresh insights into the history of the Earth and will help provide a better understanding of natural hazards like earthquakes and volcanoes.

"We looked at the current knowledge of the configuration of plate boundary zones and the past construction of the continental crust," said Dr Derrick Hasterok, Lecturer, Department of Earth Sciences, University of Adelaide who led the team that produced the new models.

"The continents were assembled a few pieces at a time, a bit like a jigsaw, but each time the puzzle was finished it was cut up and reorganised to produce a new picture. Our study helps illuminate the various components so geologists can piece together the previous images.

Not from a Creationist POV of course, but the use of the words "architecture" and "construction" are rather suggestive.

No need to study the physical dynamics of the earth. Gore and Kerry already know how it all works. ;sar/

The universe is obviously an intelligent design. If someone thinks it’s just an accident then I have some oceanfront property to sell them in Nebraska.

“The universe is obviously an intelligent design.”

Not so intelligent since the earth is always evolving with destructive events.

You overlook and miss the point entirely.

The article and the science behind it said nothing about an accident. The geophysical science is describing a process, a geophysical process.

A better and perhaps more correct description might be intelligent process

The Genesis account is far more plausible than most can grasp —

You already know, but there is a lot of water under Nebraska —

What I meant was the theory of the big bang and that life on earth started as an accidental conglomeration of amino acids. But the process is ongoing and is described by mainstream scientists as random events.

I still have a hard time understanding why God thought a hippo would be a good mate for Adam.

Birth, death, renewal, constant change are the cycle of life of everything on Earth. It’s how everything develops and evolves. Why is that ‘not intelligent’?

ALRIGHT KIDS, SETTLE DOWN.

All this “crevo” BS is utterly unnecessary and destructive.

Whether or not you think there’s a God THIS much is true:
IF God exists, it lies fully within His capacity to have instantaneously created everything — including all the memories you think you have — a mere 38 seconds ago, and there would be NO WAY YOU COULD TELL it hadn’t all been here for a gazillion years.

And, since He could’ve done it mere seconds ago, what difference does it make tossing in a few thousand or million additional years? The “when” has zERO bearing on the “how.”

So, “crevo” debates are reduced to being a stupid distraction; cosmological turd that only attracts cosmological flies.

Just stop; it ain’t smart.

I guess we could use that as an argument to justify abdicating any curiosity about anything at all.

Everything might be, in a way, ‘unreal’; so why bother?
