And you’d be surprised how much you can get selling these old cars on Ebay, regardless of condition, because they will have the missing part a restorer needs.

I can assure you, we girls thought GI Joe was way cooler than Ken any day of the week.

Well now with the "new military", Ken and GI Joe are "lifemates".

My girlfriends’s uncle has a small goldmine of antique toys he’s built up over decades. As far as I know, none are restored, and they’re all in pretty good shape. A little rust here and there, but if I were five years old again, I’d play with any of em.

Art-deco looking trucks from the 40s, everyday Tonka trucks from the 70s (with the label “Made in Mound, Minnesota”), pedal cars, weird little cash registers, old wooden trucks and cars, etc.

I had a peripheral connection to the antique “industry” for lack of a better word about 30 years ago, and old toys are big business.

“Honestly, when I become king, there’s going to be hell to pay for people who come up with these”

You mean after your kingscension?

I wonder what she would have given you if you had asked for a 1930 V-16 Fleetwood Roadster.

Maybe a pair of fuzzy dice to hang off the mirror?

the toys better come with a steady supply of D-Cell Batteries.

Few toys take D batteries these days, they just double and triple up on AA batteries.

Difference is that they received those as kids. Looking at the condition for something most likely over 50 years old, my guess is that he didn’t play with it much.

Haha. I had one teacher in grammar school who always talked about getting a classic red corvette. So one year I bought a model car and put it together and gave it to him. Probably didn’t get the right year, but at least it was a red corvette.

“A small percentage of males would bring their toys into the office to decorate their cubes.”

Yes, we’re called “nerds”, it’s okay, you can call us that, we’ve embraced the term :)

But I’m sure you were all disappointed to find that neither was “anatomically correct” when you decided to change their outfits.

At some point, kids figure out that adults are messing with them. It’s usually around the time when they figure out that Santa isn’t real. I remember being happy and proud when I realized there was no Santa. It was like I took another step toward being a grownup. I knew I would still get presents either way, so no harm, no foul.
