I see that everybody is talking about the Republican Debates, but nobody got my approval, or the approval of the Trump Campaign, before announcing them. When you’re leading by seemingly insurmountable numbers, and you have hostile Networks with angry, TRUMP & MAGA hating anchors asking the “questions,” why subject yourself to being libeled and abused? Also, the Second Debate is being held at the Reagan Library, the Chairman of which is, amazingly, Fred Ryan, Publisher of The Washington Post. NO!
What he says makes sense... unless avoiding debates ends up reducing his lead significantly.
Right decision.
Watching a GOP debate without Trump would be like watching Fox without Tucker.
Or listening to AM radio from 12-3 w/o Rush.
I don’t argree that “he doesn’t sound confident”?
I have been angry for decades that Republicans agree to this one-sided, stupid charade, controlled by enemies, who have no qualms about using it as a tool and a weapon.
That he thinks he doesn’t need this to get elected doesn’t sound like a lack of confidence to me.
Quite the contrary. And power to him.
> Right decision.
Agree. He’s the clear front runner and should get input to the process.
If Brandon won’t debate why should he?
I was looking forward to a debate between Trump and DeSantis. The rest of the pack, I could care less. But I really did want to hear the two of them present their best cases under fire.
DNC says Biden wont debate in primary. Why should Trump?
What does he gain from debating ? Nothing. He is a known quantity, a hugely successful president and a two time election winner. Why squabble with clowns from the Clown Car ? The one person who will however gain from the debates is Vivek and that I will look forward to.
Go Trump! Repubs are losers!
Ditto . Plus , dems have already said they will not help or priimary debates .
The Dems aren’t having debates, either. Looks like a rally-driven primary season this year.
For clarity, please refer to rlmorel’s #6 above.
No, he sounds rationale. Why does the GOP continue to pretend that the media has one scintilla of fairness? The media should be showing the debates on TV, not moderating them.
I mean, how many times does one have to stick one’s head in the Tiger’s mouth before the reality of the fact that the Tiger is a Tiger sinks in (like the teeth of said tiger)?
Nope. And the questions are going to start.
What a coward.
Trump may be trying to bait the other side by saying he won’t debate? Is it the old “rope-a-dope don’t debate bait” trick? Maybe Trump thinks Joe is so brain dead that Joe might say something about Trump not wanting to debate or in response to the “press” asking Joe about Trump not debating?
Trump not sounding confident is something I’ve never heard...
