Poll: Trump Leads Biden, West in Hypothetical Race for White House; DeSantis Craters in Primary Contest
Breitbart ^ | Aug 19, 2023 | Nick Gilbertson

Former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden and Green Party presidential candidate Cornell West in a hypothetical three-way race for the White House, according to a national Emerson College poll.

The poll also gauged the Republican presidential primary, finding that Trump maintains a colossal advantage with 56 percent support. Former Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) support has dropped off 11 points since June 20, when he registered at 21 percent. While he looks to stop the hemorrhaging, he finds himself tied with the surging 37-year-old entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy at ten percent. Ramaswamy is up eight points since June.

Kimball noted DeSantis supporters are defecting to Ramaswamy

“IF DeSantis had an ounce of pride and self respect, he would shut down his campaign and throw his full support behind President Trump.”

It has nothing to do with pride or self respect. He probably figures the left will disqualify Trump at the last minute... and he’s probably correct.

If it was me, I would have struck a deal with Trump... to fully support Trump unless or until Trump was disqualified by the left... at which point Trump would (from jail if necessary) get behind me and support me for the GOP candidate. DeSantis didn’t do it that way, but that’s the way it could have or should have been done, IMO.

Vivek will crush the entire field. He clearly has a good 40 or so IQ points over the other debaters and he is two or three times a better communicator. Anyone with a truly open mind will be at a minimum pleasantly surprised by Ramaswamy. The only downside to Ramaswamy is the debate format. It’s also the reason why I don’t like debates. There is not enough time to respond to questions to really give anything more than trite, sound bite answers. That’s what the media wants so they can spend the next news cycle running mere seconds of what is said and then moronically and arrogantly analyzing a meaningless predicate for argument. It’s the wrong starting point for a serious discussion. Even so, I think people will find other debaters wanting.

If you seriously desire to know where candidates really stand, then watch them in long policy speeches and long form interviews not performed by the mainstream media. Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point event are a good start. That’s where Pence committed political suicide by not being able to look at Tucker Carlson in the eye when answering questions and made the gaffe, "Not my concern”. Many other candidates were interviewed at that event. Then there’s a number of other long form interviews plus policy speeches on Rumble and YouTube. It really takes viewing multiple interviews and speeches to get a real idea how bad a majority of the candidates really are. While it’s easy to ridicule Chris Christie, it’s really another entire level to know what he really wants to do. The same goes with all the other candidates, that includes Vivek, because certainly there are many that ridicule him without knowing him or his policies.

Trump already debated once in 2016, he’s already been President there is zero reason for him to debate.

That's a bad argument to make. Biden does not need to debate now that he's the President?

So we're saying the same thing about Trump.

Nope. We have to hold our politicians accountable.

That includes Trump and Biden.

“DeSantis completely misunderstood his own popularity. “

I agree, DeSantis started out to the right of Trump, with a good track record as governor and the right position with Disney and other social issues. Then he started taking money from RINO donors and listening to their advice. At one point I thought he might make a good VP to Trump. But now not so sure. He needs to rid himself of his advisors and most of his donors and go back to being a great governor.

Regarding debates, why should Trump expose himself to bias moderators and questions, while giving his competitors an a greatly increased audience. Just go with a live interview with Tucker during a competing time slot and steal what’s left of the audience away from the debate.

Vivek says a lot of nice things, but my concern is he has no track record. If elected or appointed to any position would he really carry out the MAGA agenda or is he all talk? Too risky in dire times. Needs to serve in a lower government post to establish a record.

I’d put the odds of Biden being the Dem nominee at O. He can barely offer a wan wave from afar. Debate? No way imo.

DeSantis supported the 'cornavirus disaster' (your words).

“You have a lot of people there who are working very, very hard, and they’re not getting a lot of sleep,” DeSantis said on March 25, 2020, at a briefing on Florida’s response. “And they’re really focusing on a big country that we have. And from Dr. Birx to Dr. Fauci to the vice president who’s worked very hard, the surgeon general, they’re really doing a good job. It’s a tough, tough situation, but they’re working hard.”

My take, FWIW, His "donors and advisors" were specifically targeting him, to pre-emptively disqualify him in the eyes of conservative (read majority). They were not helping him, they were destroying him, and so far have exceeded even their own predictions and targets.

It is the same ploy they used to destroy Trump.

Get in close, as friends, then destroy while feint praising.

It is how politics is played since Igor used a femur to call the meeting to order.

If the republican party was a real party that actually stood for something and represented their voters they would circle the wagons around Trump. What’s happening to Trump is an attack on America, on our system of elections, on our very freedoms, and honestly it is quite hazardous to our nation.
But instead the republican party wants to pretend that this is a normal election cycle.

The republican party is destroying itself. I believe this is all a necessary step in getting this country back. What will replace the milktoast republican party? Washington should be worried.

If Trump doesn’t debate, few will even watch, probably just as many or more would watch his interview with Carlson. When someone is leading his closest competitor by about 40 points, it won’t make much sense for Trump to give his competitors, such as the highly hostile Christie, the backstabbing Pence, or the neocon warmonger Haley, a chance to score cheap shots against him. Just about everyone in the country knows what Trump actually did, all the others will just have to say they would do this or that, with most of them saying they’ll do what Trump did but more of it.

“Trump is behaving like an ass.”

Trump has something like 91 charges against him... He’s going to be so tied up in court he won’t have the time or money to campaign like the others will, but that’s not enough is it? Desantis people are so threatened by him they need to attack like pit bulls. Smh...

You repeat lies presented by the mainstream media when you know the mainstream media lies each and every day. You readily accept those lies without investigation other than to confirm already deeply ingrained biases of your own. You are gullible, weak minded, lazy and generally a pompous ass. You lack the critical thinking skills to analyze the problems that faces America and rather be spoon fed the same trite messages so you can repeat them as if you had an original idea. You are nothing more than a useful idiot of globalist neocons when you parrot their hideous talking points. Those talking points are mere distractions from the graft and corruption that enriches the establishment class and the Military Industrial Complex.

It’s simpletons like you that are distracted by the inane. 👀 a 🐿️!

To me there is a BIG difference between a primary debate and a presidential debate. Of course Trump if hes the nominee has to debate Biden..but for the primaries he’s already done it, in 2016 why should he have to do it now

the poll means nothing.

The poll, released Saturday, shows that 42 percent of registered voters would vote for Trump in that scenario, placing him a point above Biden at 41 percent. West takes five percent of the respondents, and another thirteen percent are undecided.

Without election integrity the game is rigged. And neither the D.C. GOPers or the individual state GOP organizations or Trump have done anything to encode into law or the organizational structure the needed reforms in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin or Georgia. Demon Rat organizers loyal to B. Hussein Obama and his imps are running things either in the state capitals and/or the metropolitan areas that somehow find tens of thousands of Demon Rat votes in the three to five days AFTER the election is over.

So go ahead and do all the name-calling you like, whether you are a Trump supporter or a DeSantis support or a Vivek supporter or a Tim Scott supporter.

Unless God intervenes, this is gonna be another "amazing" win for whatever figurehead the Democrat party puts in as their nominee.
