Joe’s first response to this new threat?
“When is somebody gonna bring my second serving of Butter Pecan Ice Cream? I’ve been waiting over 10 (Fkn) minutes!
I am the President!!”
It’s the outcome of numerous issues, latest being funds and weapons for Ukraine.
It’s time for Europe to grow their militaries and defend themselves.
I’d prefer we fix our nearly destroyed country myself...
excellent point, actions have consequences
Wasn't this Kruschev's point to Kennedy? (If the US can put missiles in Turkey, we'll put ours in Cuba.)
Neocons are causing real problems globally.
Flipping the SWIFT switch will have ramifications for a long, long time.
So, what's the catch?
No. The US isn't planning to invade Nicaragua, but Moscow would over-run their European neighbors all the way to the Atlantic, given the chance.
Just after the WW2 Tehran Conference, Stalin said to a journalist, (roughly translated):
"It's high time the Slavic race was in charge of Europe."
*sigh* Trying to get these people to understand modern European history is like teaching algebra to adolescent flatworms, Never forget that the modern-day Muskovite form of government is in part derived from the Mongol hordes who over-ran the region in the 13th century. They never really left..
And do please remember why NATO had to be formed in the first place. Events in Ukraine should be a reminder.
*sigh* Getting these people to understand modern European history is like trying to teach algebra to adolescent flatworms. *sigh*
FR Team Globohomo NATO tells me that having a hostile military alliance right on the border is perfectly fine.
So two countries over must be even safer.
The chickens come home to roost.
I don’t think Biden cares. Has he ever been concerned or taken actions to further US interests or security?
Keep sighing Neocon filth.
Let me guess...never served?
If we had Trump in the WH, we would not have a problem of missiles in Nicaragua, because Russia would be deterred from trying him out. When we had JFK in the WH, Russia tried the US on with missiles in Cuba, and then backed down when he showed that he would not just write a strongly-worded letter, but rather there would be missiles in Turkey pointed at Russia. Since we have Brandon in the WH, they’re not even going to get a strongly-worded letter, because they own his a@@. Either way, no smoking holes. The sheath is mightier than the sword.
There’s no debate, you’re a pussy.
Huh...???
I thought dim-eyed Danni was dead. Oh well, that will come soon enough...
Well, that’s a problem. I lived in Costa Rica for a few years and met scores of Nicos.
And thus the Monroe Doctrine dies.
“It’s time for Europe to grow their militaries and defend themselves.”
Actually, it’s time for them to quit attacking people and just stop being expansionist world micro-managing A-holes.
Nobody was attacking them or threatening to. Russia cut it’s army to 10% of what it was in the Fulda Gap days and worked hard to become a trading partner, especially in energy and agriculture.
Europe doesn’t need big armies, it needs a new way of treating the world. They need to loose the arrogant “entitled to rule the world” attitude.
Fine by me, as long as our troops, weapons and money don’t fall under their purview.
We have enough issues at home without Europe.
I’ve heard for 2 years that military equipment in neighboring countries is not an issue to anyone so why is this even a story?
“No. The US isn’t planning to invade Nicaragua, but Moscow would over-run their European neighbors all the way to the Atlantic, given the chance.”
That must be why they cut their army by 90%, and engaged in every business deal they could with the EU and Germans and French. But we resented that and worked for 2o years to cultivate them into an enemy again to justify massive spending and to stop them from selling gas to the EU.
The DC and Defense industry laugh at how easy it is to manipulate the cold war vets into thinking they are reliving the old days and getting that sense of meaning back.
