Willis insists Trump, Georgia defendants be tried together despite deeps doubts

Fulton County’s District Attorney Fani Willis (D) on Wednesday insisted former President Trump and all of his co-defendants in the 2020 election interference case be tried together in October, despite already-emerging skepticism from the judge.

“The State requests this Court to keep all defendants together for trial … until the Defendants have presented to this Court their basis for severance,” Willis said in court documents made public Wednesday.

It’s going to be a circus and it also looks like it will barely get out of the starting gate before it falls apart completely for the prosecution.

She knows this is in trouble and way over her head, which is why she is using tax dollars to hire outside counsel to help her get out of this mess.

She knows she can cobble together a jury of Trump haters to get a conviction. She also knows the chance of getting 19 juries together who have never heard of the defendant and getting some BS conviction is quite low.

Imagine 8 guilty verdicts and 11 not guilty verdicts going into appeals. We think this looks like a circus, just wait.

How is she going to keep 19 unrelated cases taped together through even pre-trial motions? Trump is going to move for federal court, and most of these defendants have a case for dismissal.

Is there a judge stupid enough to try 19 political defendants at once?

So whose rights is she planning on disregarding. The two who want a speedy trial or the 16 who need time to prepare?

Only republican lawyers. Democrat lawyers can do anything, break any law and the Bar association only winks and smiles.

Can’t have a soviet show trial unless you’re going to really put on a show. Maybe bring in some kangaroos in tutus and a marching bad to play “L’Internationale” .

““Realistically, holding three or more simultaneous high-profile trials would create a host of security issues and would create unavoidable burdens on witnesses and victims, who would be forced to testify three or more times on the same set of facts in the same case,” prosecutors wrote.”

Nah. That’s not it.

It’s a package deal and the prosecution HAS to try them together or the whole case falls apart. Imagine trying to prosecute someone for simply making a speech or a phone call. The case is weak as it is and they must have them tried together to even begin to make their bogus case.

Nothing says “Show Trial” like a mass trial with a verdict before hand.

I posted this question five days ago:

How does one single jury constitute as "peers" to 19 different individuals?

Somebody should challenge this on Constitutional grounds, demanding separate juries for each person because the charges are different, their actions were different, their jobs were different, their motives were different, etc.

One jury cannot reasonably be "peers" to 19 separate individuals.
