House Republicans are facing a growing exodus of experienced and talented members that adds up to an alarming political maturity drain. A growing number of their well-respected members are fleeing Congress as the conference pulls further to the right, and the departures are starting to spark worries about a further erosion of GOP lawmakers' appetite for the basic tasks of governing. After a brutal year of their party's shaky stewardship of the House, 21 House GOP lawmakers have already announced their plans to retire at year's end — including five committee chairs. Many of the departing members share a common trait: They’re part of a loose coalition of governing-minded Republicans who are still willing to generally back leadership, support bipartisan deals and even defy former President Donald Trump at times. And while some Republicans have cited personal or health reasons for leaving office, others in the group are blunt as they lament their party’s inflated expectations for what’s achievable when the GOP controls just one half of one branch of the government.

Because the "basic tasks of governing" are:
Passing continuing resolutions every couple of months
Passing bills that the Senate passed without amendment
Never having conference committees
Continually "suspending the rules" so that Democrats can help pass bills that the Senate passed, without amendment
Never cutting a single line item of spending
Never eliminating a single government program
Of course, funding Ukraine
Etc.
The writers of these articles haven't been alive long. Governing looked very different in the 80's for example, when the Congress actually legislated. But that was Pre-Pelosi.

The horrible policies of Progressives, both Democrats and Republicans, have become so disconnected from reality, and have such disastrous policies for the USA, ordinary people can no longer ignore them.

It will take a miracle to keep the house in November. We might get the senate.

The Left always uses terms like this (e.g., ‘far right’, ‘extremist’, ‘right wing’) whenever referring to conservatives, but never uses similar labels for anyone on the Left.
No one on the Left is ever referred to as a ‘hardliner’.
misery and death? That's the only thing neocons bring to the table. It's the only thing you have ever brought to the table. The rest of US have had our fill of it. America first.
Exactly. They would much prefer the Republicans to be the Washington Generals of politics. Much easier for them to manipulate.
These experienced and talented members have given us a $34T debt.
Most people interpret it as: America does nothing for anyone anywhere until everything in America is fixed, and even then why should we? Its their problem.
However I do agree that AF is not necessarily an isolationist policy. DJT certainly does not see it that way: as an isolationist policy. But most of the House GOP does.
All these people have to do for about $174,000 a year is to show up to vote occasionally.
I think I could tolerate that sort of deal for about a year.
