Having just listened to Dubya's foreign policy speech just now- I have some uncontainable observations.
He not only has great speech writers, he is a gifted speaker. He has that God given gift of sincerity. He's convinced me that he IS sincere.
Simplicity of message, inspirational, concilatory, complimentary, and on and on!! He's a winner bigtime. And I'm thanking that beautiful lady named Laura too.
Before I get carried away completely, let me repeat my two (2) major caveats re Dubya's performance.
1- Failing to have the Justice Dept. aggressively investigate and prosecute the criminal Clintoon pair for their treasonous, murderous performances. Our Justice system will never be vindicated until that occurs- IMHO. And
2- Being unnecesasarily nice to the queer folks, thereby displeasing and worrying the vast majority of us that believe that such life style is un Christian, immoral, and unhealthy. Treat all with courtesy and respect as one of God's creatures, but please don't 'rub our noses' in it or try to teach that deviance to our kids!
I may send this as my 2nd 'Letter to Editor', my 1st and only was published as lead letter when I submitted it- very pleasing.
Lastly, I'm hereby publicly stating- "Dubya will go down as the greatest President the US of A ever had ! IN spades.
I hear Hitler was a great speaker.
No...actions speak much louder than words.
He knows how to salute his troops (Watch him the next time he gets off the Helicopter at the Whitehouse) I always do and it gives me chills! .. he stops to sing "God Bless America" when shaking hands in a crowd. Often with tears in his eyes and a heavy heart for the burden we all face. God certainly blessed this country by giving us the best man to lead us during these trying times. Even albore supporters are echoing our sentiments.
We have the privilege of going on Military Bases. When we do, we constantly thank our troops for serving. Because we are both retired military, (I only served 4 years, but my husband retired after 26) we talk to the troops. They are very happy to be serving under this Presidents Command. That is so important...and seems to be something people "didn't get" during the last two terms preceeding President Bush's election.
I can tell you guys "get it". I know a lot of people do.
We share something in common, our respect and admiration of our President.
Someone up above this post, said it quite well. It was something about how Hitler was a great speaker. Poignant!! Succinct, and poignant!
Now to undo the damage done for 8 years. To restore this country back to what was FINALLY happening after Presidents Reagan and Bush. President Bush is the right man at the right time. He is in our prayers DAILY!!
God Bless America and her troops,... and God Bless our President!!
FRegards
Personally, I don't think so. I guess that is something we will have to leave to the people who write the history books.
If that's true, how come I end up crying during almost every one of his speeches?
Just the sincerity factor makes him an exceptional speaker, IMHO. While I loved Ronald Reagan and thought he was just wonderful, the trying times that we are going through right now and with the way that I think President Bush is going to handle things, he's going to be my choice for the best American president ever, I am sure. I just love this man for his obvious love of country, the way he doesn't do a poll first to decide his position on issues, and his faith in God.
I heard a story about him when he was campaigning that I thought was absolutely perfect. When he was asked what he thought about homosexuality, he put his arm around the questioner and said, "We're all sinners, friend."
What a wonderful response, and so typical of W! With love, he acknowledged that homosexuality is indeed a sin, but that the sinner is not to be hated. A few people in our midst need to make that very Biblical distinction.
I do too, mtngrl! And I believe it's because he speaks so clearly from the heart, and echoes Biblical truths in almost every speech! I believe that many of us can sense that he is being used by God to bring the nation through this darkness, and we are moved by that. What he says means something! The "Bush is a rotten speaker" garbage went down the drain with the "Bush is dumb and incompetent" media propaganda.
I also vote aye to the "one of the greatest ever" question!!
If you really believed that, you wouldn't call our President "Shrub" or "dude." Your insulting names belie your claim of patriotism and loyalty.
