"Has this story been in the national press? "

I just heard it on WABC (New York City) radio a few minutes ago. The radio story did not mention the anthrax or handwriting angles, though -- just that two men from the Hamilton apartment complex were being detained by the INS.

"when the major attack occurs, penicillin won't work"

Is that true? People routinely take the same antibiotic at different times in their lives without loss of effectiveness. There is a danger of reduced effectiveness if an antibiotic is overused, and over time new strains of a bacteria might appear which are resistant to the antibiotic, but I never heard there was significant danger of an antibiotic becoming ineffective after a single use.

What happens is that patient takes antibiotic for, say 6 days instead of the reccomended 10 days. 99.9% of germs die, but .1% remain. They are of course the strongest of the original bugs and when antibiotics is stopped, the remaining strong bugs begin to multiply again.

As result, patient now has "super infection" of the strongest, most deadly germs, and antibiotic may not stop the "super bug."

Also some germs such as HIV can mutate but that is not case here.

I'm not sure how they are going to identify them as right wing domestic terrorists, but the media will probably find a way.

80% of Arabs voted for Bush, it is said. There ya go. NWO of VRWC.

I just did some quick research. Apparently, if you take it only for a couple of days it shouldn't alter your resistance. However, prolonged use (10 days to two weeks or more) will indeed create a resistant bacteria. Eighty percent of people who inhale anthrax die within days if they are not treated for it. In order for the Cipro to work it has to be taken at least within 12 to 24 hours of exposure. From what I've read, once the fever, chills and respiratory symptoms set in there is little that can be done. This disease in my opinion is a lot worse than we are being led to believe by officials.

There is an antitoxin that counteracts the anthrax toxin, even after toxin production has started. It is cheap and easy to make. Don't know why we don't hear more about this.

I posted an article about it from abcnews.com a couple of weeks ago, but can't retrieve it now.

Greenwood Apartments; Greendale School?

I think they have 'Green-ness' envy. Freud might ask "What do these terrorists want?" : )

Maybe the terrorists hate us because we have many more beautiful green trees than they do. They must suffer some sort of culture shock on their many trips to visit Bin Laden, when they find their homelands so "treeless."

Thanks for the link. That article's way over my head, though! Sounds like a promising new antitoxin, but there's an old one that works and already exists. China makes it, we could easily too.

Side effects such as "serum sickness" may occur, but they sound less severe than those caused by Cipro.

First, investigators were taken by surprise when they found out the letter received by Daschle and Brokaw actually could have passed through the postal service and contaminated those areas. Now they seem totally thrown off balance by the fact that the latest victim actually could have become contaminated by a method used other than the mail. Are they for real? Sure hope they’re doing their homework on this Greenwood lead. It’s like amateur night(mare).

No---it's not been in the national press. If it were, they would have to stop their vast-right-winged theory. Now we know that's not going to happen until or unless the press has no other choice!!

Information is DANGEROUSLY WRONG.

Taking any antibiotic for only a few days kills weak germs. ...but the STRONG survive. Then in absence of anti-biotic, (because it wasn't taken for entire reccomended dosing time) the still living, strongest bacteria multipy so you have a much worse disease caused by much stronger bacteria! This resistance stuff is BS in anthrax cases such as this.

Take antibiotic for entire prescribed time!

Thank you. Here's the sketch side by side with Azmath's picture.

John Doe #2 looks surprisingly like a slightly bulkier Azmath.
Same 'pug' nose or space between the nose and lips. Eyebrows in both pictures have arching in same area, and cross the nasal bridge to the same area. (I think Azmath's eyebrows help distinguish him from many of the other characters whose pictures we've seen lately.)
Same short neck (or high back of the shoulders). Same full lower lip. Jaw line is a little fuller. Hairline might be receding a bit on Azmath (who might be older).

You're right. Of course you have to take the prescribed dose if you actually test positive for the disease. Earlier in the discussion we were referring to those who are tested by show no signs of anthrax but yet are prescribed Cipro simply because they were at a sight where traces may have shown up. They've been telling us all along not to take it unnecessarily because you will build up a tolerance to it.
