Dear Mr. MacKenzie:

It sincerely pains me to have to do this, but after sixteen (16) years of subscribing to the Richmond Times-Dispatch, I [Mudboy Slim] HEREBY CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION!! Sure, I'll miss the Sports page and its wonderful coverage of my Redskins and my Wahoos, but the rampant LeftWing bias that has overcome this once-great newspaper is more than I can stomach!!

It's not your Editorial Page, Ross, and I will continue to read your column on-line...however, Jeff Schapiro's anti-GOP, anti-Earley Bias during the past campaign was simply beyond my significant capacity to tolerate IGNORANCE!!

So, Mr. MacKenzie, it is with a heavy heart that I bid you and your tabloid 'adieu'...it was a fun and educational 16-year ride.

Good luck in fixing what you must acknowledge is WRONG with the RTD...when Mr. Schapiro is summarily-dismissed, I'll be Bach!!

In Richmond, VA at the Rennie's at Midlothian and Pinetta (just off the Powhite Parkway), I, Mudboy Jefferson Lincoln Slim III, just filled up my pickup with 87.9 cents/gallon gasoline!!

I live westward of Pinetta, off of 60, & I usually get my fuel at Courthouse & 60 or Courthouse & Hall...they're both at around 94 9/10 now...and dropping.

By the way, I came here about 19 months ago & I must say that Ukrop's is the best grocery store I've ever set foot in.

Never did subscribe to the RTD though. Too many who deliver papers nowdays take absolutely no pride in the task.

Ain't that the Truth?! However, I must say that I will miss the guy who dropped off my RTD fer the last few years...the consummate professional!! Many a morn I'd hear his beat up ol' klunker cruising down my street early in the morning and I'd go out and wait for my paper to be hand-delivered. Scared the poor guy the first few times, but it got to be where he'd always have a nice "Up Early AGAIN, Mr. MUD?!" And my reponse would always be, "Nope, haven't been to sleep yet!!"

I am trying a new litter out for the bottom of our parrot's cage, and if it proves a satisfactory substitute for the 'ole Times Distort, I too will cancel.

Me and the kids have spent the morning making up signs and packing Gator-Ade, etc. and will be meeting her on the route at around 9:30, 11:00, 12:00; and at the Finish Line between 1:00 and 1:30...WE'RE ALL VERY PROUD OF MAMA RUNNING HER FIRST MARATHON!!!

LOL...with a four game losing streak, it's kinda hard to blame 'em fer that one!! I'm not going to the game--Sorry, Coach Welsh--since the Missuz is running in the Marathon, but I'd like to think we've got a pretty good shot at knocking off GA Tech and will be lookin' at it on TeeVee.

Great going Mud. If I lived near Richmond I would cancel my subscription also. I used to get the Lynchburg News & Advance on Sundays for the want-ads, but even that's a waste of money.
If everyone did as you with not only their newspaper but to TV sponsors of biased news, things would shape up real quick.

My wife gets the Pilot. In the AM I go downstairs to start the coffee and bring in the day's lies via the Pilot and leave it on the kitchen table for her to read. Then I go to my home office to get the news via DRUDGE, the WSJ and end up spending most of my time at Free Republic.

Every once in a while I check the Pilot's editorial page to see which tax proposal is getting their support.

The only saving grace is that my wife is a coupon clipper and saves enought to cancel out the cost of the paper.

Yep...my wife was none too pleased to learn that I'd cancelled the subscription without first consulting her and it's gonna take some purty fast talkin' to keep her from cancelling out my Principled Vote Against Leftist Bias by re-subscribing...but i shan't write the check an any event!!

You and me both...the LameStream Medyuh has done a stellar job in sliming the accuracy of the info we get from the Internet, but nothing could be further from the Truth!!
