I don't think so. The big difference is that every single potential juror would have also been a potential victim of the "snipers." They're going to take it personally.

Sandra O'Connor, the "death penalty dealing" State's Attorney of Baltimore County just called Ron Smith on WBAL (5:30 PM) and told him that the sniper killings "are not a death penalty case in Maryland". Serial killers don't meet the requirements of the death penalty law in Maryland.
