"Fox is saying these guys are morons who left tons of clues."

What does this say about "law enforcement" in the DC area, then?

Even though one of the suspects is clearly a Muslim based on his name alone, not a single mention of the fact that he is a Muslim has been made on any sort of media so far as I can tell. I think the race of the suspects is a factor in the media downplaying too.

Sounds like he might have been a prison convert. The imams have been going in to prisons for years, recruiting Black men by feeding their hatred for 'whitey'. The Black Muslims look upon their religion as repudiating everything 'Western', and separating them completely from the white man. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Here is back-up for your statement about Unit 999 and OKC from NewsMax

"Ms. [Jayna] Davis’s evidence was examined by Patrick Lang, a Middle East expert and former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency’s human intelligence collection section. In a memo to Ms. Davis, Mr. Lang concluded Mr. al-Hussaini likely is a member of Unit 999 of the Iraqi Military Intelligence Service, or Estikhabarat. He wrote that this unit is headquartered in Salman Pak southeast of Baghdad, and ‘deals with clandestine operations at home and abroad.’”

In an exclusive interview with NewsMax.com, TV investigative reporter Jayna Davis who has gathered enough information to write ten books, described McVeigh and his accomplice Terry Nichols as "the perfect lily-white recruits” in what she said has all the appearances of an Iraqi-Iranian plot, with Iran acting as "paymaster.”

Her evidence is so strong that even the cautious Wall Street Journal has taken notice and, in a Sept. 5 article by its senior editorial writer Micah Morrison, has said the possibility of a trail leading to Baghdad "needs to be put on the table in a serious way.”

Millions of Americans recall that in the early hours after the bombing, law enforcement produced photos of a "John Doe 1” (which turned out to be McVeigh) and "John Doe 2,” which was quickly withdrawn as a "mistake.”

Davis says there was in fact a "John Doe 2” at Oklahoma City. Her investigations have produced over 20 witnesses who place him near the Murrah building or who link him to the plot in other ways. An Iraqi native and former member of the Iraqi army, Hussain al-Hussaini "bears a strong resemblance” to the description of the mysterious "John Doe 2” right down to a tattoo on his left arm. A judge has ruled that Davis proved the resemblance.

does virginia or maryland have the death penalty?
I don't believe DC has the death penalty?

If there is a terror connection will they be indicted under ANY terroism law? Would treason apply? (or are they too stupid to be traitors?)

CNNPMSNBCABCCBSNBC are becoming less and less and less important. (hmmm if I petition my cable company perhaps they will drop CNN and put the 24hr knitting channel.)

CNN is reporting

"A federal search warrant was being sought, but one official told CNN no weapon was found in a preliminary check of the car."

Without the firearm that matches, there isn't much evidence

More of DU thinking. FReepers are correct in the liberal left wishing it to be another Tim McV. type.

DU post 35:
This is NOT good news.
I agree. If this guy turns out to be an african american who converted to islam and joined the terrorists, we are screwed (not that I wish he wasn't found or anything).

If he's a registered Dem, we might as well wait till 2004.

Du post 37:
If he's ex-military...

...can we blame the right wing gun nuts, even if he's an angry looking african american named mohammed?

DU post 44.
It's like a Freeper holiday They're eating it up over there. Time to round up all the black folks...

This is the Cherokee tale of the Rabbit and the Duck:

The Rabbit Goes Duck Hunting

The Rabbit was so boastful that he would claim to do what- ever he saw anyone else do, and so tricky that he could usually make the other animals believe it all. Once he pretended that he could swim in the water and eat fish just as the Otter did, and when the others told him to prove it he fixed up a plan so that the Otter himself was deceived. Soon afterward they met again and the Otter said, "I eat ducks sometimes." Said the Rabbit, "Well, I eat ducks too." The Otter challenged him to try it; so they went up along the river until they saw several ducks in the water and managed to get near without being seen. The Rabbit told the Otter to go first. The Otter never hesitated, but dived from the bank and swam under water until he reached the ducks, when he pulled one down without being noticed by the others, and came back in the same way.

While the Otter had been under the water the Rabbit had peeled some bark from a sapling and made himself a noose. "Now," he said, "Just watch me;" and he dived in and swam a little way under the water until he was nearly choking and had to come up to the top to breathe. He went under again and came up again a little nearer to the ducks. He took another breath and dived under, and this time he came up among the ducks and threw the noose over the head of one and caught it. The duck struggled hard and finally spread its wings and flew up from the water with the Rabbit hanging on to the noose.

It flew on and on until at last the Rabbit could not hold on any longer, but had to let go and drop. As it happened, he fell into a tall, hollow sycamore stump without any hole at the bottom to get out from and there he stayed until he was so hungry that he had to eat his own fur, as the rabbit does ever since when he is starving. After several days, when he was very weak with hunger, he heard children playing outside around the trees. He began to sing:

Cut a door and look at me;
I'm the prettiest thing you ever did see.

The children ran home and told their father, who came and began to cut a hole in the tree. As he chopped away the Rabbit inside kept singing, "Cut it larger, so you can see me better; I'm so pretty." They made the hole larger, and then the Rabbit told them to stand back so that they could take a good look as he came out. They stood away back, and the Rabbit watched his chance and jumped out and got away.

Ah, the D.U.

They are so sad that "material witness" #1 isn't White.

Awwwwwww...

I tried to post to the D.U. once. I politely mentioned that pro-abortion advocates were sick freaks and evil, disgusting baby-killers. They threw me off.

What about freedom of speech?

Democrats are losers.
