I quickly channeled surfed all three of these Networks a few minutes ago and they ALL had negative stories about the Wellstone "Memorial Service." This looks to be a backfiring PR disaster for the Demmycrats if even the liberal networks have no choice but to report negatively on this.
BTW, CBS led into the story about that "Memorial Service" with a silly negative story about how Norm Coleman was somehow besmirching the memory of Paul Wellstone because he flew around Minnesota today in the same kind of jet that Wellstone used when he crashed. That's the worst they can say about Coleman?

I don't watch the major news networks, but thanks for watching for us and reporting. I don't see how they could report that rally as anything but negatively. It was a disgusting partisan pep rally, with x42 in charge. He and Hillary were just beaming the whole evening.

I saw Jesse "The Bod" say that he might apppoint some independent citizen off the street to be senator in Wellstone's place.
It's interesting that Minnisota voters are so discusted that Walter Mondale's poll numbers are now almost double digit to Coleman's
Probably too much to hope that Republicans had a chance in Minnisota...

From what I heard last night, all the local network affiliates in MN were suckered into carrying the memorial service campaign rally and their switchboards lit up during/after the spectacle with angry viewers calling in. Maybe that's why the networks didn't dare cover it any other way. I'm sure it wasn't a sudden attack of integrity or truthfulness.

I was totally FR free today because of a busy day of work. How did this play on the radio show circuit (i.e. Rush Limbaugh)?
I caught an audio clip from the rally on the news coming into work. It seemed totally out of line for a memorial service.

I only watched ABC. Even though they attempted to be "balanced," it was clear from the story that the Democrats had blown it.

Here's just a taste of it:
People took the occasion of Paul Wellstones death, hijacked his soul and told us what was in it for their own personal gain. They wrenched his soul right out of the grave, assumed it for themselves and then used it for their own blatant, selfish, political ambitions. It was despicable.

I saw Jesse "The Bod" say that he might apppoint some independent citizen off the street to be senator in Wellstone's place.now. don't underestimate the importance of this. imagine how many judges could get confirmed in a lame-duck session with a republican majority. which there would be (given cheney as tiebreaker) if ventura goes ahead with this. and suddenlt jumpin' jim becomes the invisible man he deserves to be.

Was he supposed to rent a bus instead now? Or just not campaign at all (after all, it would be WRONG to CAMPAIGN so soon after the poor Senator's death). GMAFB.

How many times do you find the "Big Three" broadcast networks criticize the DemocRATs and then see some Republicans disagree with them??? Yet, they are doing it.
I have seen several so-called Republicans on TV today, including the so-called GOP consultant Scott Reed, basically say "No big deal". Can you believe their idiocy????

Not yet, but I can get the west coast NBC at 9:30, and it will be a first for me, and worth it. Thanks for the heads up. Hard to believe the networks finally recognize the skunks for what they are.

Imus started that story this morning and then retracted it.

"How did this play on the radio show circuit (i.e. Rush Limbaugh)?"
Rush began speaking after only a couple notes of his theme song. But he was very quiet, very somber. It was apparent he was deeply disturbed at what our country, or perhaps I should say the Democratic Party, has become. He spoke along the lines that "I thought I'd seen it all but..." When a caller asked what the problem with the "service" was, if this was what the family wanted, he said that her question was indicative of the problem itself, that we used to have common standards of decency, of "how to go on" in certain situations, and we have lost that. All in all, he was disturbed and almost at a loss for words to describe what happened, which is saying something when we're talking about Rush.

Dear Minnisota,
How does it feel to be like Monica's stained dress?

I was totally FR free today because of a busy day of work. How did this play on the radio show circuit (i.e. Rush Limbaugh)? Rush was speechless. He basically said that he thought that he had seen it all, but that this "performance" was basically lower than low.
On the local afternoon radio show in Pittsburgh(KDKA, Fred Honsberger) the usual leftist callers were in full throttle. "Cynthia"(a greenie if there ever was one) stated that Wellstone was basically assasinated by Bush. "Carolyn" who repeats the New York Times editorials whenever she calls was defensive shouting to Fred that this was a "private" event.
In closing, most of the callers recognized the Wellstone "memorial" for what it was, a cheap grab at the symapthy vote and were repulsed.

Q: What's the difference between the Paul Wellstone memorial ceremony and the World Series?
A: In the World Series, the rally monkeys didn't have government jobs.
