A Mt. Juliet music minister with a cache of vintage firearms was arrested yesterday on federal weapons possession charges after agents found 15 machine guns stashed in his home.
Acting on a tip, agents from U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms obtained a search warrant yesterday and entered Mark S. Lancaster's two-story brick house at 267 Page Drive. Their informant told the agents they would find automatic weapons in a room near Lancaster's big-screen TV, affidavits show.

Perhaps this would be a good SC test case to at least reverse the 1986 MG ban.
Confiscations are here: "We don't want these things around." It's not a question of registration, it's a question of getting rid of as many as possible, under any pretext.

And therein lies the complete absurdity and dubious nature of laws against "possession" of objects. Like you quoted the man, his rational for not "Wanting those things around" is that they are "illegally possessed" - not that the man had attempted to harm, theatened to harm or harmed anyone.
I wonder if the founding fathers could have ever imagined a governmental agency who's sole purpose is to take things away from people that someone said "they cant have" and then throw them in prison or kill them if they resist. No, I doubt it.
A person in the church is who is in charge of the music presentations like the quire or whatever the church may have.
Can anyone explain for what purpose this little bit of info was added to the story? I can't think of any normal journalistic purpose. Maybe to intimate that "music ministers" are not supposed to be able to afford them? I dunno. Weird.
Ministers are supposed to be poor. Music ministers poorer still.
It's all part of the press's insinuendo to portray Christians in as bad a light as possible.
Is it now a crime to watch the Hitler Channel on tv now?
My uncle passed away a few years ago and left a Nazi relic machine gun. In order to legally own the gun, paperwork had to be submitted every year. Is it possible the music minister was behind in filing his yearly paperwork in order to legally own the machine guns?
It is a full time work for me to keep up with my income tax questions, so the last thing I wanted was a gun that required constant paper work. Still, I would have loved to have had it as a collector's item.
1- The NFA began as a TAX to collect $200, which at that time was considerable revenue. That was 1934.
2- The NFA morphed into a beaurocracy to screen applicants for criminal background checks to be worth to own an MG.
3- Now the NFA seems to be a registry of the few, extremely overpriced civilian-transferable pool of guns since 1986.
It seems to me that, If I've PAID THE TAX, and I've PASSED THE BACKGROUND CHECKS, and I'm SIGNED OFF BY LOCAL LE as someone safe to own an MG, then I should be able to BUY, CONVERT or MODIFY ANYTHING I WANT AT A REASONABLE PRICE, as long as I then register it. I mean, let's face it, I could still satisfy all 3 goals of the NFA; the tax, background checks and registry. It's a crime that I cannot afford to buy a cheap, stamped MG because the NFA has driven the price up to thousands of dollars with incredible hassle and delay. It's not likely to get better soon though. Imagine a politician publicly advocating repeal of MG laws. The gun grabbers would slice him/her to ribbons. "Senator Doe Wants to Put Machine Guns on the Streets", "Senator Doe Turns Back 70 Years Of Public Safety", "Senator Doe Arms Gang Members", "NRA's and Criminals' Wet Dream" etc. You get the picture. Ain't gonna happen (unless there's a revolution)

Of course. No church going, gun buff, full auto garage manufacturer is going to live in a house without a Shrine to da Fuhrer.
Our only appropriate reply (if we had cojones): "F#$k you, Mr. BATF thug. Come and TAKE them, if you dare."
