("Cocktail" hour from 6:30 - 7:30 PM)

This Month's Featured Speaker:
Candidate for Los Angeles City Council
Rod Wright

The Majority of the Members of the Los Angeles City Council have proven to be extremely antagonistic toward those of us who value our God-Given rights as enumerated in the Constitution of the United States in general, and the Second Amendment in particular.

Rod Wright is a member of the political party which generally continues to attempt to strip away the ability of law-abiding citizens to purchase, possess and use firearms, HOWEVER, Mr. Wright professes to be PRO-GUN and the National Rifle Association has chosen to support his candidacy for the Los Angeles City Council.

Please come to ATF Night this Thursday to hear directly from Rod Wright where he stands on the Second Amendment, Gun-Registration, the proposal to ban the purchase and possession of .50 Caliber rifles and ammunition, the issuance of Concealed Carry Permits, etc., etc.

This is YOUR OPPORTUNITY to hear Mr. Wright's positions on these (and many more) issues, as well as ASKING FOR YOURSELF any other questions you wish. Rod Wright has promised us an open forum where no question from the audience will remain unanswered.

Please don't miss this opportunity! The election is March 4, only a couple of weeks away. Even if you do not live in Los Angeles, the makeup of its City Council directly affects ALL of us, in one way or another. You will likely learn something this week at ATF Night which will energize you to get involved in one way or another!

What is "ATF Night"? No, we're not the federal gun control agency. We are a social gathering of Second Amendment and liberty activists and leaders who meet monthly to discuss firearms-related issues over (optional) adult beverages and dinner, and afterwards, those so inclined may choose to step outside to continue discussions while enjoying a fine cigar - hence the name.

Originally hosted by The Lawyers' Second Amendment Society, the meetings have continued thanks to the leadership assumed by John Brantuk, Republican Nominee for the California State Assembly (see www.BrantukForAssembly.org)

You don't have to be an activist to join us - newcomers and the curious are always welcome. And admission is always free.

Ask Rod Wright the tough questions... I bet that he will give the correct answers. I met Rod at the NRA annual meeting in Reno. Good guy.

Don't worry yourself about the gun issue in Los Angeles.

The riots and OJ trial has caused the suburbs to buy great numbers of legal weapons and there would be hell to pay if anyone attempted to reduce self-protection in LA LA LAND.

It is good to keep an eye on the issue, but the public at large would not stand for gun removal/reduction after all the racism displayed in the inner-city in the last 15 years by residents there.

The suburbs would refuse to leave themselves open to gangs. Right now most of the smart gangs know if they attempt to act up in the suburbs, they had better have their Will and burial site prepared first.

The suburbs won't put up with the crap the inner-city does.
The suburbs in CA are very well armed bedroom communities.

Mr. Wright appears to be pro-2nd; yet, it was he who authored California's so-called CCW "reform" bill some years ago. It is a "may" issue law, that effectively means that in some California jurisdictions, there is NO issue. A good question for Mr. Wright would be, "Do you support a SHALL issue CCW law in California and if so, what are you doing to make it a reality?"

California has been MAY-issue since the early 1900's - looking at the history, it becomes quite obvious that the law was originally passed in order to keep guns out of the hands of the Mexicans, Chinese, and Blacks.

See http://www.ninehundred.com/~equalccw/ for the whole sordid, corrupt story.

We're trying to reform this situation with a initiative Constitutional amendment - see http://www.CApropRKBA.org/ for details.

As for Rod Wright - he rocks. He's a true friend of gun owners, and he deserves higher office.

I'd personally like a spokesperson for ALL OF OUR RIGHTS, including the right to private property and individual liberty. Someone said recently if you want to scare a politician on Halloween, dress up as the Bill of Rights.
