It is WAY past time for our government to call on more vounteers, who perhaps missed the opportunity to serve in uniform before...
To go to boot camp, take the oath, shoulder the firearms and walkie talkies... and start hoofing the border trails in formal squads...
Backed by fast response national guard and helicopters, armed only slightly less than apaches...
It's time to button up the homeland and find out who the hell belongs here and who does not.

I have gotten to the point where I take stories like this with a salt lick. You know, a giant block of salt for deer.
There are a whole bunch of possible explanations for this that don't involve foreign armed forces, such as paintballers/airsofties, some militia unit, a bunch of young ex-military guys 'training', US Special ops, USBP Special Operations to name a few.
I am also aware of the recent Mexican military cross-border incidents, so I do not discount that something like that may be happening. I *don't* think that it's likely to be anyone more sinister, like Al Q or Iraqis- just doesn't make tactical sense to enter the US with no plausible cover and risk compromise that way.

this was a reality check and scare to me almost 20 years ago and now, well....
Red Dawn (1984)
Synopsis: In the near future a group of teens escape to the nearby forest to protect themselves when the Soviet Union and Cuba launch an attack on the United States and paratroop into their small midwestern town.
A chilling quote from the movie:
In our time, no foreign has ever occupied American soil...Until Now!

Jim Hogg County isn't a border county, and it would be one heck of a long walk from the border.

Well, if al qaeda or any other terrorist organization wanted to effectively set up operations against the US on our soil, I guess they could pick no better place to do it than the Mexican border where it is well known that we do absolutely nothing to protect ourselves even when our own border patrol officers are shot at. I would hate to think that we will have to come under serious attack by some radical Islamists from the south to actually get serious about border control...or would political correctness still be the rule of the day?

Well, normally I would discount things like this post but just recently the Mennonites are coming out of Mexico and asking where they can buy guns. They say there is something funny going on down there but they weren't specific. It wasn't just one or two together they have come in separately asking.
It must be serious because Mexico seriously frowns on personal ownership of guns and these guys would have to smuggle them across the border.

If this is a long term problem, I would bet they are Militia loonies with camo on their faces, making them look "Foreign" (maybe Martian) to civilians.

For all we know, they could be Iraqis.
For the sceptics, read this about the German Saboteurs who landed on US soil during WW II, with explosives, intent on committing acts of sabotage and terrorism.
"This is the story of the eight Nazi would-be saboteurs
who, in 1942, landed on the shores of Long
Island and Florida, intent on wreaking death and
destruction. Their plot was betrayed by one of their
leaders, however, and they were promptly rounded up
and put on trial for their lives.
As the United States entered the Second World War,
the Nazi intelligence service, the Abwehr, under pressure
from Hitler, decided to land saboteurs, armed with
explosives, on U.S. shores. It planned to attack factories
and railroads, disrupt war efforts and spread terror and
confusion throughout the land."
